Battle with Jeep finally settled

My 8 month battle with Jeep finally came to an end with very positive results. I had one of the first 2014 Ecodiesels off the line. (Per Chevyboy, who worked in the plant, it was the first off the line). It ran great for a year and a half. Then the problems began. It was in and out of the shop for months. (in the shop for over 3 months total). Jeep finally found that they used a mix of American and European parts. A star case was opened to track the parts that were used, and eventually, they had to make a custom part to connect the mix of parts on the turbo charger, which solved the problem. Half way thru the service issues, a higher up executive at Jeep finally gave me a lifetime warranty on my Jeep. I was happy at first, but then the Jeep went back in the shop for another month. I though what good is the lifetime warranty if it is always in the shop. Since I did not know how many other parts on my Jeep were mixed like this, I fought for a buy back. It took about 4 months, and dozens of phone calls, and lots of stress and patience for this to occur. I finally got results after e-mailing the CEO of Chrysler. During the buyback process, we agreed to transfer the warranty to the new 2016. On March 30th, I finally took delivery of the new Jeep. I was mailed a 8 year, 120,000 mile, $100 deductible warranty. This is when the second half of the battle started. I contacted customer support several times a week. Everyone I spoke with agreed that I was due the lifetime warranty, but no one had the authority to give me the warranty. I was transferred around, and spoke with numerous people, but still, no help. I was so frustrated that I finally contacted the senior executive who gave it to me in the first place. It took him a month, but yesterday, I was finally e-mailed the warranty. In conclusion, I traded back a 2014 Jeep Ecodiesel Overland that was 2 ½ years old with 40,000 miles for a new 2016 that was the same model, and I only had to pay the difference between a 14 and a 16, which was a $1000. I also got the Maxcare lifetime warranty, which is not offered on the Ecodiesel, but a handful of Ecodeisel owners were able to get due to issues we had on our Jeeps. I must say, it took a long time, and lots of stress and frustration, but am very satisfied with the end result.

Wow Shannon that is a mixed bad news good news result.
I recall the first few of you guys getting the jeep loving it but mixed parts make it impossible to maintain when you don't know what is what.
I love my 14 best ride ever and hope that the 16 is a great ride as well...

Congratulations! And welcome to the CRD club of '14 replaced with a '16. I have 2,000 on my '16 now, after 41,000 on the '14. I hope you enjoy your '16 like I've been enjoying mine! Good luck and happy trails to you, Shannon.

I remember reading your original posts on this and was thinking what a nightmare. I'm glad you have gotten it straightened out to your satisfaction but I am disappointed in the Jeep folk for dragging this out for eight months. Cudos to you for your patience. I can't guarantee I wouldn't have driven straight through the showroom and blamed the brakes. Uh oh new problem. Get me out of this hunk of junk.

Well my friend, you have the patience of Job. I could not endure that amount of inconvenience. It's been just over 3 months for me and I'm just waiting for FCA to cut my attorney a check.

Glad you were made whole when all was said and done.

Anyone not getting results thru Chrysler customer support, do what I did, and e-mail the CEO. His e-mail is readily available on the internet. I had to do this to get results.
