I don't know why but I just don't like the Billet Silver. It almost has too much metallic flake, the flake looks uneven and splotchy to me.
I was looking at Billet Silver the other day on a Limited. It was a sunny/cloudy day so I got to see Billet in bright sunshine and overcast. I have to say I agree with you Billet looks heavier in some spots than other but when it's overcast it almost looks like the RIP Mineral Grey.

That said, I think both colors are excellent choices.

Granite Crystal Metallic. May not have the Jeep, but I'll still drop in and keep up with the news.

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

Well, out of those two....Billet. I have a '14 Granite ( love the color) and a '01 Silverstone Cherokee ( very close to Billet) and love that color too. At this point I would go with the one that easier to keep clean, Billet. The ol Cherokee can go for many weeks in a North Carolina ( assuming that's where you're from?) winter without being washed. The Granite, and Max Steel I presume, seems to be almost a weekly chore to keep it reasonable.

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

I went with the Billet but with the lighter interior! I liked the Maximum Steel but I was worried about how dirty it would constantly be and once I added the tint I figured it would just be super dark looking. It's going to be a long 8 weeks

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

I went with the Billet silver with black interior. Hearing too many complaints about the interiors with lighter colors showing scuff marks. I get a lot of compliments about the silver color. Unique silver color - darker than most other silver cars, and the color varies in shade/sun.

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

I have a lighter interior now and it does get marks on it. I have to put down a towel because of darker jeans which sucks. The one thing that I couldn't move past in the black interior is the color of the center console....that more goldish looking plastic.

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

You should get billet silver... I like Maximum Steel the best but I don't want any more Max Steel jeeps running around.

Does anyone know the percentage breakdown on colors built for 2014, or older? Curious what the perception is vs reality..

Can't find jeeps color production numbers.. But silver was the most produced color from 2001 thru 2011 throughout all car companies. As you now see on the road, white holds the thrown. IMO.. Which is meaningless .. I see most jgc's in black/silver. Can't tell you how many times I've been complimented on my max steel. Changes color from dawn thru dusk.

Re: Billet Silver or maximum steel?

I think there are more white cars due to the marketing/popularity of Apple products. Max steel is a cool color for sure....one minute it's blue another it's grey or black.
