Re: Buyback/Replacement

To Marlon JB2: Marlon I'm the owner of a 2015 JGC Ecodiesel. Love the vehicle no problems other than the ripped Air Filter like folks have talked about. The reson I'm writing I wonder if the resolution to the turbo lag problem that was helped in the 2016 will roll down to 2015 and 14's. Here is the quote from Truck Trend about the Ecodiesel engine. " The engine received a calibration update for 16 to improve throttle response at part throttle and acceleration from a stop" I definitely have the lag from both situations.
Mike

The calibrations probably involved the injectors and turbo. Not sure how much a software upgrade can fix that, as some of the injector timing is unique to each engine. You should just bite the bullet and do an upgrade like GDE. No hassle with the dealership's I've been to.

What is a GDE upgrade?

Green Diesel engineering. It's a company out in Michigan that has been working on Diesel engines, especially our VM engine, for years. They put a new flash on the ECM they cuts down on soot build up, turns off the EGR and a whole bunch of other combustion timing stuff that eliminates the turbo lag. I've had it on for over 10k miles and its made a world of difference

No clue. We don't know anything about any vehicle or get info after ship line.

If Shannon's Jeep had the wrong parts on it, sounds like a sequencing error, created by scheduling. Ughhhhhhh........

Re: Buyback/Replacement

Look not to be that guy but I am gonna. Jeep Chrysler FCA are hiding. The Chrysler care people are difficult at the very least. The dealerships are masters of avoiding. I have multiple different issues starting with in then first 30 days of ownership and have ZERO access outside of Chrysler care, who are just horrible or the dealership who is passive. Why does FCA not publish the path to satisfaction when problems arise? I am glad for the people in this tread who seems to be taken care of buts lets remember for every one satisfied there are 50 not and for the 50 note satisfied there are hundreds who just trade out and walk away from the product.

Ultimately what I am saying is these are expensive purchases and you should not have to work hard to get the manufacturer to back the product and warranty. One last thing, a little bite of politeness never hurts either.
80% off my issues have been quality control issues stemming from the factory. Come on now get it together.

I hear you man. The true testament of the value of a corporate relationship is how the customer is treated when things go wrong.

We loved our MY14 WK2 ED. It performed virtually flawlessly for 19,600 miles and 19 months. It died 23 days ago on the dealers service drive. We've received almost no information beyond "it needs a new motor" from the dealership service staff.

FCA corporate was even less informed, an weren't inclined to do or say anything besides "we're sorry and we'll try and escalate your issue blah...blah...blah.

My newly retained Lemon Law experts informed me that here in CA the law is pretty cut and dried. 30 days in the shop for any vehicle within the original MFR's warranty period triggers the process and a full buyback is the likely result with attorney's fees and expenses OUTSIDE the settlement.

Pity. We really enjoyed the great mileage, power and comfort. But I'm not inclined to do that again any time soon. I still own an MY14 Rubicon that I hope to drive into the ground. But that might be the last FCA product I ever buy. Can't trust them when the product fails. And once the dust settles and I get my check, I'll be sure to inform my extended base of social media connections of that fact.

Glad things seem to be on the up and up now.

But yours was one of THE VERY FIRST off the line... may have been the first one.

Marlon,
My 2014 GC Ecodiesel was born on Aug 28, 2013, apparently after Shannon's pilot team left. I am glad to report that I have had very few issues- not even a cat or DEF problem in 49K miles. A few tweaks of software for tranny and AC early on and finally rid of the phone requires service error, life was good. My ONLY complaint is the lack of updates with maps, but that's not JNAP's issue.

Thanks for building my most favorite vehicle. The plant tour will always be a fond memory. Keep up the good work.

This was my first JEEP, not my last.

Best always,
JW

The tour was awesome, and I made quite a few friends that day. Glad to hear yours is running well.

Do you mind sending me a PM of these quality control issues?

Shannon, Brainstormer:

You guys should see the place now... looks a heck of a lot better even with just minor improvements.

I still think a scheduling error caused Shannon's problems. I can't see any other possible way that it had the wrong parts on it.
