Tell them to go f**k themselves. They aren't doing us any favors and chances are they'll try to find a way to screw you over.

But seriously, tell them to go pound sand.

Re: CARB wants to test our WK2 Diesels!

Man I am so glad I am no longer living in CA and have not been for years. This is one of the main reasons. Total lack of freedom. Big brother to protect you from everything.

When I left Castle AFB they had the nerve to send me a letter stating that I owned them that % of my retirement pay when I retired. Yeah I really want to live there....

Sorry to hear the California CARB Nazi's are there to make your day...

CA air pollution... too many people flapping their lips about everything.

Tell them to double it to $8K and you'll volunteer your vehicle.

Re: CARB wants to test our WK2 Diesels!

If I were to do it I'd fill it up with Propel HPR fuel. Back in the day I had a VW bug with aftermarket carb and intake. They wouldn't pass it because it wasn't stock. Even though it was running very clean. So I put the stock stuff on and went back. It ran twice as dirty but they passed it because it was stock. Go figure.

Re: CARB wants to test our WK2 Diesels!

Crafty bastards......!
But no way do I let ANYONE drive ANY of my vehicles. Never have and never will and especially ANY Governmental organization.

CARB is nobodys friend as they have an agenda and are, IMHO, way too political.

Let me posit you this question......
OK, so they test/run the snot out of it for 2 months. You get it back then drive it for 3 months and the engine or pollution equipment component goes Tango Uniform on you.....what then?

I would contact FCA and send copies of your letter to them.

And as far as CARB goes....Tell 'em to stuff it.....

Re: CARB wants to test our WK2 Diesels!

I had the EPA ask if they could do testing on my CRD. They offered a car to use and cash. As I recall they would keep it for about a month and put about 300 miles on it. Somehow the letter disappeared in my "circular filing cabinet".

Re: CARB wants to test our WK2 Diesels!

My guess is that they want to run the vehicles on their IM240 dynos trying to prove that they pollute. Having run all my race cars on dynos, I can tell you that a couple hours on a dyno will destroy tires and overheat drivetrains in a heartbeat if not done right. 2 months on a dyno? you're likely to get a smoldering hulk of a car back.

Why would anyone collaborate with a communist occupation government like California's?
