I have a Banks Ram Air system on my Duramax (for three years now) that I've been happy with. The aFe kit was as close to the Banks system I could find with the larger filter.

Re: Check your air filter

Had the air filter replaced again, the 2nd one tore up after only 200 miles. Called 1-800-chrysler and made a formal report.

Re: Check your air filter

I took my Summit Ecodiesel in for the R40 radio security vulnerability recall today and also had them look at the air filter and air box. I am on my 4th OEM filter after only 12,200 miles. The tech at the dealer told me he really had no idea why this was happening so he noted on my invoice "installed new air filter. Will contact star center about this." I was told by the service representative that they took pictures to send to the engineers and that they would call me as soon as they hear back from Jeep about this issue.

Re: Check your air filter

Just checked my Baldwin filter at 5,000 miles - no tears, no sign of stress. Looks like a "keeper" to me...

Please post if you hear anything. This is nuts!! Don't they test things before selling them?

Re: Check your air filter

Yeah, from talking with AFE on the other forums it doesn't seem like they have plans for an enclosed CAI for the GC ecodiesel.

Re: Check your air filter

I am taking a serious look at the AFE Proguard 7 filter. From what the site says, it sounds pretty impressive. I hate the thought of unfiltered air going thru that dodgey (no pun) filter.

Air Filters Direct Fit Magnum FLOW OER Pro 5R Air Filter;*Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel 2014 V6-3.0L (td) 30-10253 - aFe Power

If you want to wait for me to drive 5.5k more miles I'll post a 10k UOA from Blackstone on the proguard7.

Check your air filter

Checked my AFE today, put about 3k miles on it with no sign of residue downstream of the filter. Looks to be working fine.

Not sure I will wait that long, but I would really like to see that report.

Bluegrass, where did you get your filter? Is there a part number to it?
