THis is the Grand Cherokee 3.0 diesel forum! Yes, a V6 or Hemi gets the "lifetime" the diesel only 8yr 120000miles.

I realize that.
I was only posting a possible source for a lower cost Chrysler warranty than I had seen here. I know the diesel does not have the lifetime option.

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

So $2300 is considered a good price now for the lifetime maxcare? Man prices definitely northward from when I bought it for my 2014. guess it doesn't pay to wait to buy them, buy when buying the jeep.

Yeah your dealer likely doesnt know what he is talking about there isnt a lifetime mopar for the diesel. And when it came down to actually producing the paper work he would be back tracking because the computer would not take that. Also $3200 for the lifetime maxcare on the v6 or v8 is a terrible price they are gouging you. Walk out of there and buy it online from ziegler. It will be nearly $1000 less for the same exact thing. You can go online and check the price at ziegler without putting any info in. Just make sure to get the chysler mopar not an aftermarket one.

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

There is a lifetime warranty or more correct service contract in Canada but not the US.
Wish there was but 8/120 is the longest out there and that I hope is enough.
I like my Jeep better than my BMW and have 34K miles in 23 months...

Could you be more specific on the Canadian contract. That would interest me.

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

Need to contact your Jeep dealer. A number of members here have that iife time contract. I think from memory they paid a lot more than the typical 1800-2200 for the 8/120....

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

I bought the maxcare for the diesel for 1700. Its not lifetime. And I'm glad i bought it. My expiration date is 2026 or 70K miles. I would have paid the 3K if they offered it for lifetime as I keep vehicles.

Not in the USA. At least not through FCA.

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

I got a "Lifetime Maximum Care" from Chrysler as a result of my Jeep being in the shop 10 times in 18 months (one stint for 47 days). Since VA law didn't let me Lemon Law it, they offered me this olive branch. Its a $0 deductible, unlimited mileage/duration policy, but it is non-transferable. As I say, I am not sure this is something one can buy since I got it through extraordinary circumstances.

However, since some of you here had me worried, I went back to check it I am now quite nervous. Page 1 says lifetime maximum care blah blah blah but on Page 2 it says "Eligible Vehicles: FCA US Vehicles (excluding...diesel equipped...) and later "The following are NOT eligible for a Vehicle Protection Plan: ...Vehicles equipped with a diesel engine...".

So now I'm wondering if they gave me a plan that in its own terms is void. I mean can't Chrysler see that the VIN its assigned to has a Diesel engine? Further perplexing me is why on Page 3 they list all of the diesel engine parts covered under the plan. Why list them if no vehicle equipped with a diesel engine are covered under this plan? Starting to feel like this isn't worth the paper it's printed on...

Going to write a letter and get a written response. I don't trust the 1-800 telejockies to give me the correct information or have that phone conversation hold up when I take it in for service...

Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it

I think I read somewhere on this forum that guys that read the Chrysler warranty for diesels shared the emissions systems is not covered. Curious what parts are covered in diesels.
