Re: Chrysler lifetime warranty worth it
I got a "Lifetime Maximum Care" from Chrysler as a result of my Jeep being in the shop 10 times in 18 months (one stint for 47 days). Since VA law didn't let me Lemon Law it, they offered me this olive branch. Its a $0 deductible, unlimited mileage/duration policy, but it is non-transferable. As I say, I am not sure this is something one can buy since I got it through extraordinary circumstances.
However, since some of you here had me worried, I went back to check it I am now quite nervous. Page 1 says lifetime maximum care blah blah blah but on Page 2 it says "Eligible Vehicles: FCA US Vehicles (excluding...diesel equipped...) and later "The following are NOT eligible for a Vehicle Protection Plan: ...Vehicles equipped with a diesel engine...".
So now I'm wondering if they gave me a plan that in its own terms is void. I mean can't Chrysler see that the VIN its assigned to has a Diesel engine? Further perplexing me is why on Page 3 they list all of the diesel engine parts covered under the plan. Why list them if no vehicle equipped with a diesel engine are covered under this plan? Starting to feel like this isn't worth the paper it's printed on...
Going to write a letter and get a written response. I don't trust the 1-800 telejockies to give me the correct information or have that phone conversation hold up when I take it in for service...
