clicking seat

Seems whenever driving and I go over bumps my driver seat makes a clicking noise. I also noticed the passenger seat makes a clicking noise only when someone is sitting in it.

I've got the same issue. Dealer says "cannot replicate." I drove them around. They say "I have no idea what you're talking about..." I plan to discuss and then escalate, if need be, at my next service appointment.

Re: clicking seat

I had more of a "clunk" sound if you will on mine the past 2-3 months; only would happen periodically. When I took it in for service they found that the inside frame and broke. They replaced in under the warranty and good as new. Maybe a different sound than yours is making, but can ask to see if that is intact when you at the dealership.

Re: clicking seat

Had mine do that. Rather than schlep it over to the dealer, I did some investigating myself.

Took off the plastic panel on the side of the seat that holds the switches. Had someone sit in the seat and bounce up and down to make it click. I quickly narrowed it down to one of the pivot bushings in the mechanism that raises and lowers the seat. I took the bolt (or nut and stud, can't remember what it was) off the bushing and found it bone dry, no lubrication at all. It seemed to be binding when someone sat in the seat and loaded it up. Coated the bushing and the shank of the bolt/stud with some white lithium grease; no clicks since.

Re: clicking seat

Had same issues with my driver's seat. I found that a temporary fix was to move the seat into different positions (which just spread out the minimal lubrication mentioned above). Once lubricated, clicks stopped.

Glad that works for you. This is the family car for us and is split between wife and I driving. So it should be getting lubrication each time it moves.

I haven't had time to diagnose, but there are some good suggestions.

Re: clicking seat

Mine was squeaking. They replaced the track under warranty. It was quiet for two months..now it's back. I can hear the passenger seat starting to do it too.

If you have a Jeep you need to get dirty sometimes.
