Re: Code P20EE

Had P20EE 2 months ago.. went thru the whole process and got new CAT...
Been getting P0087 lately twice in a row. Dealer diagnosis? You need another new cat and new DEF injector..... 2nd cat and injector arriving tomorrow and should be ready tomorrow night..!! They should be stocking these at this rate....

Re: Code P20EE

I have had ~12 P20EE codes in the two years I've had this vehicle. They replaced the catalytic converter last November, but I believe that was the older model. I've had 3 P20EE codes in the last 6 weeks and they have just reset it claiming it is just a stored code. This time they said there was a software update. Chrysler already has a lemon law letter regarding this vehicle, but nothing seems to get done. What a shame, because other than the P20EE code this vehicle is fine!

Re: Code P20EE

UPDATE - Now its back!

Evidently, RRT 15-098 Service Bulletin 18-023-15 REV C. is back!!

This Reflash and parts clean/replace was posted on October 11th and, I believe, removed during the past couple of days. However, I checked today and it is back at WK2Jeeps plus I tried doing an Internet search today and there it was.

The better news is that our JGC Diesel will be getting a new SCR Cat installed today (Service Bulletin 18-064-15 : RRT 15-093) together with new front rotors and pads. When we took it in last Friday, I had them check the HVAC and they discovered it was low on refrigerant! They recharged it and added some die and they will check it today for leaks. As I said in another post, someone else on the board had the same issue and it appeared that it was undercharged from the factory.

But what is FCA up to now regarding the DEF/SCR problems and issues. I feel like Alice in Wonderland, it is all getting "curiouser and curiouser!". I just don't know what to do with our JGC Diesel. We really like it a lot but all the issues we experienced (warped brakes, leaking/undercharged a/c and emissions/SCR issues) are now giving us cause for concern. We use our JGC to tow a travel trailer and the last thing we need is a "suspect" tow vehicle when on the road.

Re: Code P20EE

I just got mine back yesterday and they did both RRT 15-093 and RRT15-098 along with a HVAC update just released on 10-14. New cat (AGAIN) and new sensor.....
It has been a little inconvienient, but I will say... my dealer diagnoses on one day, orders the parts and we are back in service the next day, new parts and updates installed, no charge...

If it isn't any more painful that this, it is worth it for how great this vehicle is to drive....

Re: Code P20EE

I just picked mine up yesterday and the CEL is back on already. They only did a SW flash. Don't know what the code is, but I'll put big money on P-20EE. I think an attorney is next. This has gone on for almost 2 years now.

Re: Code P20EE

WoeIsMe,

Call the Jeep Customer Help Line, tell them your issue and give them your VIN. They will then check if your JGC is in the Recall for a new SCR cat. I just went through the same thing and they verified our JGC is in the recall and I just had a new SCR Cat installed

Or tweet it to @chryslercares - they react quickly to public comments and not so much when it's an 800 #.

Re: Code P20EE

We just purchased our 2014 JGC about a month ago and had the P20EE code and CEL come on last week, it was on for a few days and then went off. I still took it in to the dealer yesterday and they did a software update and ordered the new CAT, it'll be installed when it comes in.

we really love the jeep and time will tell if they have figured out these bugs on the first year vehicle. we have 7,500 miles on it and really love driving it and for sure the mileage we are getting.

Re: Code P20EE

Is it possible for the jeep to go into limp mode with this code? Was planning on making a couple hour trip tomorrow, but the code popped up today.

Don't want to get there and turn it back on to find it in limp mode a few hours away from home.

we drove around for 2 weeks with the code on while waiting for our new cat to come in and it never went into limp mode.

if your throwing the code get it into the dealer and they can reset the CEL for you and you should have the updated Cat ordered and installed under warranty.

Re: Code P20EE

A Green Diesel Engineering tune will also eliminate the P20EE code and it will never return. The tune also helps improve the longevity of this engine as it prevents any more egr soot going into the intake. More power/torque and a 3-5mpg improvement in fuel economy help make the vehicle a much more enjoyable driving experience.
