I had completely forgotten about this, I picked up a scanner and torque awhile back for my old truck. Plugged it in this morning and ran a scan, only came up with P016F - Powertrain. No information on it and doesn't even say when it happened. But I've plugged this in now and paired my phone so in the event it happens again I'll be able to collect more data next time. Thanks

Searching the net for P016F comes up with "Closed loop fuel pressure control. limit reached - pressure too low". Sounds like gummy fuel line to me.

Re: Cold start advise?

Having had 0-20F mornings and nights all week(20-30 MPH winds too) and I can say that mine has had no issue starting so far. I have made sure to not point the front towards the wind just in case.

I do enjoy the UConnect app remote start as I do that before my 1/4 mile walk to the Jeep. By the time I get there the oil is at ~100F and the seat/wheel are all nice and toasty

Re: Cold start advise?

-20 F last night. Did not plug in engine block heater. Jeep started up fine this morning @ -14F. So far so good. Will make sure to plug it in if it is that cold and windy.

Re: Cold start advise?

Got my ride back from dealer today from getting the check engine light cleared and a detail and seal done inside and out. There where two stored codes in relation to the challenging start at 6 degrees. They where, P0087-00 Fuel Rail Press Sensor Low and P0191-00 Fuel Rail Press Sensor A Circuit Performance. Sounds like the thick fuel situation wrong blend or something. Was from my local Chevron. I will ask them what they have in there tank. They reset the pressure sensor and couldn't see any problems.

Re: Cold start advise?

I lifted this off the Cummins site. Apparently the fuel heaters on some of the trucks was not activated from the factory. Might be something to look into with your dealers??

Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
2013 - 2014 Ram Trucks equipped with the 6.7 L Cummins Turbo diesel engines with fuel related
faults and/or hard, no start or start/stall condition due to fuel gelling in cold ambient temperatures.
Discussion:
Ram Trucks equipped with a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel exhibiting the above concerns have a
condition that will cause the chassis mounted fuel filter heater not to function. The condition is due to
a configuration setting in the Body Control Module (BCM) that does feed power to the fuel heater
relay for the chassis mounted fuel filter only. The engine mounted filter fuel heater is operating
properly.
Vehicles that exhibit the issue as described in the Symptom/Vehicle Issue described above;
generate and print a Configuration Report and then perform a vehicle reconfiguration to resolve the
issue. Perform a reconfiguration as follows;
 Generate and print a Configuration Report
 From Vehicle View (Topology) screen, select BCM
 Select Misc. Functions
 Select Vehicle Reconfiguration
Validate proper heater operation by testing for battery voltage at the heater connections with the
ignition switch is in the Run position.
