Dealer says Contaminated DEF
First, I called to confirm my appointment and that they would have a loaner car available. I get to the dealer 20 minutes later and was told that they are out of loaner cars.
My original concern is that my check engine light came on, a rattle noise from rear muffler and the Jeep will apply its brakes on its own. The dealer said the DEF fluid was contaminated due to sunlight. They found this because they say crystals by the spout. (Where every diesel has crystallized DEF fluid from spillage. They did not use a proper test tool. This is 100% a lie. Then they charged me diagnostic charges which I was never told I would be charged. They also told me my Jeep brakes on its own because the check engine light is on. My Grand Cherokee has 17,000 miles on it.
Side note: I own a diesel repair shop and work on 400 of them a month and have never seen this before. I have heard of it due to customers calling with their own 14' Eco Diesels looking for help.
Am I allowed to say the dealers name here?
