Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

Very cool. I appreciate your looking into temps but somehow, I really doubt a horizontally mounted shield is going to affect temperatures of this area much to begin with. As long as there is no tightly fitted vertical part in front of this area to totally block and redirect air flow, there is going to be a lot of air flow channeling through that area above the shield and all around the exhaust. Working ventilation into the design surely can't hurt. Thanks for working this project out!

Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

really grateful for dom to add that he's done some heat testing already(and jealous - its only 41F here). If he's happy with the design, I say build it. there are as of this posting 40 names on the "list" that have committed to purchase, and the list continues daily.

Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

If you look at what Jeep has done for heat shielding around the DPF and the DEF injector, they are using heat reflecting material. This is to prevent energy from radiated heat (infrared) from absorbing. The tab that Dom added, if directly between the DPF and injector, will block radiated heat. Hold your hand near a hot metal surface then place a metal shield in between....the difference is significant.

Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

So , im pretty sure im going with this last refinement for the plate. I will cut it out tomorrow on the plasma table and bend it and get it all buttoned up so u guys can see it on truck.

Im sure ill need to make minor adjustments. Your final version will b laser cut and cnc bent for a nice clean piece. Ill b able to figure out the pricing soon.

Thanks for your patients guys
