Re: DEF injector broke..

It is not only FCA, all car makers are going that route, especially w/non modular platforms, no point to have extra parts on the shelf. MB does it too, I personally have to wait for few parts to be shipped from Germany, because they are not available in the states.

Re: DEF injector broke..

One week later Dealership has no idea when the part will be available.

Jeep said F*** Y** we trust the dealerships call on the warranty issue... the whole problem is because the jeep was muddy. So they said I was off roading... which would have been nice to do. But as I had not installed DOM32ís plate yet I have been studiously avoiding such things for fear of breaking the DEF injector. And then I drive through a 6 foot by 4 foot puddle coming off of the highway to a gravel road in duck creek Utah! (Very beautiful place btw) the puddle was maybe 4-6 inches deep. This puddle splashed over the lower portion of the car, and coated the underside in mud. This apparently shattered? The plastic connecting the DEF injector to the car and bent the heat shield just a little bit (which you can move with your pinky finger I checked because I moved it back in front of the people at the dealership btw).

So I have elevated this to jeep 2 times. Once for the complete lie that we have a trailed rated vehicle we don't we have a very nice road driving minivan missing the rear seats. The second because I will never see the part because they are so short and backed up in the system.

that being said anybody want to buy a nonfunctioning jeep grand Cherokee Eco diesel overland edition fully loaded with 16.5k miles on it for like 38-40k? I need it so I can buy a minivan. Because at least they have more seating.

I got mine from Genuine Mopar Parts | Mopar Parts for Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in June, here is the line from the invoice:
68232842AA
INJECTOR-DOSAGE MODULE
$196.65

Here are the instructions from Chrysler.

I don't know if any owner has yet done it themselves, but yes, if it is not being covered by warranty. (Assuming that moparamerica.com has the part in stock.) You might want to forcefully try to get Chrysler to replace the DEF injector under warranty. It shouldn't break under normal use. Of course, that takes time for the dealer to get the part, and your time and effort.

I have no idea what happens to the warranty if you replace the DEF injector yourself.

This what the DEF injector looks like. I carry it in case of emergency.

Re: DEF injector broke..

I'm having problems with my suv. It starts and shuts off, 4 to 5 times in the morning before it idle's right and keeps running for the day until the next morning. Does anybody has an ideal what can be causing that?

I'd take it to the dealer in the evening and leave it so they can diagnose it when it fails on a cold start. Its under warranty.
