That would be my guess but it should be easy to check. Look under your Jeep and see if has the same ties that are identified in the TSB.

Leave it up to engineers to assign a TSB with a "parts kit" that only has zip ties and duct tape....LOL! I honestly don't believe thats the right solution...

No duct tape. Just zip ties. I agree it probably isn't sufficient but it's a lot better than nothing. When I tied my injector line up last month, it now sits in a slightly recessed part of the frame. It won't take a direct, crushing hit from a rock or a root, but at least the line is no longer the low point of the undercarriage and it will take a pretty solid hit to move it. A far cry from trail- ready, though.

I was able to accomplish the same thing with one zip tie. Jeep's workaround uses three, which will hopefully be more robust.

Thanks for this very useful information. My son is picking up a 2014 Overland tomorrow and I sent the dealer a copy of the RRT to address this issue before he picks it up. After reading about all the DEF related problems we came close to canceling this purchase. Really hopeful this fix avoids the problems others have experienced.

Re: DEF Injector Protection

Has anyone had the RRT/TSB (zip ties) applied and have Dom's plate installed?

I am having the RRT installed today. I removed Dom's plate before taking it in.

I did my own TSB/Zip Tie install while I was installing Dom's plate. The DEF hose that runs along the frame rail is attached with a few clips but isn't held tight against anything. A stick could easily snag it. I zip tied it in 3 additional places so it is held tight against the black plastic track. Dom's plate covers the area close to the injector so everything is reasonably protected now.

Re: DEF Injector Protection

Also, was wondering if you guys have any more information other than what we already know and have here on the forum that I should put on this website/blog I've kinda been waiting on my buddy to help me out with. He finally has some time. All it is , is a place where ppl can maybe find the issue easier and not have to search thru the forum to find out what's what. Obviously so one can contact me as well to purchase , but you guys get the idea.

Also be on the look out for the plate in a diesel magazine or two . Not sure when.
