DEF Injector Vulnerability

dom42 has done a great service for many of us here, and for many other WK2 CRD owners, with his protective plate. I just now crawled under mine and, to my untrained eye, it looks like my injector is pretty well protected already.

Did Jeep change the stock protection of these injectors? Or their location? Or both?

I am seriously considering buying dom42's protective plate, or was, but after finally crawling underneath and taking a look myself I'm not so sure I need it.

And I know there are many satisfied customers who have been well protected by his plate. I'm not asking for those testimonials here, there are other threads for that, but am wondering if the injector's vulnerability has been addressed somewhat by Jeep?

Mine is a 2014, what about 2015s? Maybe Jeep has realized the problem they created and made the situation better? Does anyone know?

Ive see the bracket they are using in this as well. I went to the dealer .. Read my OP in the DEF group buy thread. I have a video and pictures for those that have not see the new bracket they have there "somewhat" protecting it.

I gave my thoughts on it. Please read it if you have a chance.

I honestly think it will elevate some of the issue for sure as far as say hitting a large puddle of water or charging into some water that will cause a big splash. I just could trust it for any thing else that might get in that area. I put the video and the pictures so you guys can make the determination whether or not its need.

I have already have gotten many emails concerning this, and many have still went forward buying "JeepEcoDieselfix" protection plate after reading what i put up in the op of the DEF GROUP BUY thread. AS well as a few ppl canceling there order because either they feel its enough or they will take the chance....

The very very cool thing that i Love now is that if you decide to put on the "JeepEcoDieselFix" Def protection plate, the rear mounting hole that i gave the option to either drill(for Nutsert and Bolt) and/or use 3m VHB double stick tape at, You will no longer have to drill into the frame because Jeep put a bolt location there for me lol. I swear theY looked at my plate and Mind F'd the crap out of it. So now all you will have to do , is open up the hole on my plate, and re use the factory bolt.

So, to answer your question. YES!!!!

Thanks dom, here's a link to that thread:

I know you have helped many WK2 CRD owners so far. It's just that when I took a look myself, I was wondering. I'll read there and will watch the video.

Thanks again!
