The SCRs are a far better process than the pre DEF emissions. I have several of each and one day I will be able to ditch the PITA pre SCR trucks.

Oh I prefer the "ancient" trucks myself but out of the emission ideas, I use the term ideas loosely, I think the SCR trucks are far better.

I have seen other write about once they put a full tank in it sat low for while and the assumption was DEF crystal jamming up the sensor.

Personally, my level didn't move for about 2 weeks and then started moving

Well I'm at 800+ miles and not a budge. So I'll be interested in seeing how long it takes to show me something before I need to take it in. Which I do not want to do.

Re: DEF Level at Delivery

Just after hitting 2,500 miles I received the warning t that I had 440 miles to fill the DEF. I couldn't remember how big the tank was so I just bought one gallon and now it's reading about 1/3 full.

Our DEF level is already low according to the readout after 1,500 miles. I didn't buy the Jeep from the closest dealer so maybe I'll need to make a road trip some Saturday to see if they can fill 'er up.

I'm right at 1000 miles and my DEF has not changed.

Re: DEF Level at Delivery

I filled mine up to 100% and it's gradually been getting lower. I have about 2500 miles. It got down to around the 80% mark and then the last three days it shows it at 100% again.

At 1100 miles and my DEF gauge has done nothing. At this point I'm annoyed if only because I don't even know what the level is at and I don't want to go to the dealer because they usually only exasperate small problems.

If it has not moved, don't worry about it. If you have 5000 miles and it doesn't move, then have it checked out.

Mine has been slowly going down. 3000 miles on it now and I started at 1/2. I got the "your car will not start in 500 miles" message yesterday on the EVIC. I guess it's time to get some.....

I had to take my Jeep back to dealer suspecting the same thing as you because of the dash warnings I was getting. Turns out I broke off an injector located on the bottom of the exhaust! All I did was drive home 350 miles through a snow storm with like 4 inches on the highway. Yes I hit ice chunks dropping off off others people's vehicles, a few snow piles etc. but I thought I was in a new Jeep? wth??
