Sounds like Hubby is quite the negotiator. That was unusual. Maybe Zigeler just wanted to end the haggling. Decent price. Did you talk to the gentlemen that everyone was referring to in the thread?

I did not talk to anyone, my husband did. I don' know what gentlemen yor are refering to. I think we could buy it for even lower price.

Mike, not unusual at all. I found Bob Cline at Ziegler's great to work with and not pushy at all. There is a lot of wiggle room on these Extended Service Contracts and a lot of dealers look at them as cash cows. Some dealers want to sell a few at a great profit while others take the long term view and make a smaller profit over many. BTW, if you live in an area like I do in Michigan with extremely bad roads you might want to consider the Mopar Extended Tire and Wheel contract as well. For a couple hundred dollars you can get complete no deductible coverage for 7 years on all of your tires and wheels even if you replace them with aftermarket. It also extends your road service out to 7 years as well. The reason I bring it up is you can get that from Bob Cline/Ziegler's too.

Yes. Max Care 8yr 120K.

In my view worth every penny.

These cars are expensive to fix as has been illustrated on this thread.

Peace of mind.

Re: Did you get extended warranty for you 3.0 diesel

Here in Canada, I have been checking into extended warranties, service contracts etc.
Dealer offered a package from FCPP but after checking them out, have decided to take a pass on that.
I did find a website that rated top companies, and am in the midst of comparing
Mopar
Carchex
Warranty Direct
I'm kinda leaning towards something thru Mopar which would be full service contract includes warranty for x period + service costs.
I would like 7 yr /160, 000 km
Ayone have any experiences with Canadian version of Mopar service contracts to share?
I did get a quote from Warranty Direct for extended coverage at a better rate than what dealer offered.

Re: Did you get extended warranty for you 3.0 diesel

Thunderbolt: I I'm generally not a believer of these extended warranties. But for this Diesel I bought one. I got it for $20.00 over cost for the 8/120K. The only thing I would advise based on what I read is, make it a Chrysler warranty. That way you won't have any issues getting the work done and paid for. You could run into issues with aftermarket ones. Those sometime make you submit work orders for reimbursement of what you paid. Also they may not reimburse you the total and it takes a long time. Some of them force the dealership to call the warranty company to get approval. Avoid the hassle just go with Chrysler/Mopar. My 2 cents. MIke

Thunderbolt I agree with above. I'm going with the Chrysler option too. Do you need the 160k for sure? The 115k 7yr is a lot cheaper. Also a 6yr/120k option that is much less than the 7/160

Just did the 8/120 on my 2014 through Zeigler. I called Bob to get a discount code and like everyone else found him to be easy to work with. He offered the standard $50 right off the bat and when I mentioned people at Jeep Garage were getting more, he gave me a deeper discount. Total time on the phone was less than three minutes.

I've been burnt by the extended warranty in the past.

I told myself never again, but if I buy one for my planned GC Diesel, I will buy the Chrysler warranty. Anything else would be a total gamble.

In 2000, we bought a new Buick Century, and against all of my instincts I purchased an aftermarket warranty by a company called "Warranty Gold" for $1500 (not through the dealership). I did tons of research and they were the highest rated aftermarket warranty company at that time. About a year later they went bankrupt and my 100,000 mile warranty was absolutely worthless and my $1500 was down the toilet.

For that primary reason, I'll never buy an aftermarket extended warranty, and will only buy one from the manufacturer if I decide to go that route.

Yes. I, too, have been burned by an aftermarket automobile warranty company going bankrupt. My dealership guy got all huffy when I mentioned that... I thought it was hilarious when he then asserted that the aftermarket warranty company he was pushing was "more financially secure" than the Mopar plans.

OEM extended service contracts or nothing.

Oddly enough, reading my Mopar MaxCare document it seems they will issue a policy for GM and Ford vehicles as well. Thought that was strange.

Re: Did you get extended warranty for you 3.0 diesel

Some place on a Forum I came up with Riedman Motors in Indiana as a good place to get a quote. I took the email with me to the Santa Fe, NM that had the JGC we wanted and they met Reidman's price for the Max Care - 8/120K. I rolled it into the loan.

Then drove over 600 miles home with about 29 mpg.
