Diesel - No longer for France!

France - in their emission wisdom....phasing out sale of all passenger diesel vehicles. currently about 80% of all passenger cars are diesel.
I'm sure the Jeep will make it to the downtown's exclusion list (being a V6) coming soon.

Sounds like they are heading where we are already at in North America!. slim picking for diesel.

$14K allowance to trade in your oil burner for copper loaded Electric car.

Re: Diesel - No longer for France!

"First of all, another tax will be added to this petroleum distillate. Not only will this deter some customers, it will also add revenue for the government: around 807 million extra euros. Then, there are talks of a new law: if it comes to pass, owners of vehicles that don’t meet the most recent environmental laws will be charged more for the right to register them.
Finally, there could also be a law that would restrict access to European city centres for polluting cars."

I don't see anything here that says France will be ending sales of diesels.

Re: Diesel - No longer for France!

All of Europe had been moving away from diesels and going to gas/ hybrid for the last 10 years. This is driven by the Euro emissions regulations which makes it very difficult to meet...
