So why wouldn't FCA get the JGC approved to along side of the Ram Ecodiesel...There are too many sold orders of Rams and JGC Ecodiesel's to scrap it unless they really have to....Just my two cents.
Totally agree. Diesel is still here to stay. Ford and GM announced more diesel models yesterday at 2017 Detroit auto show. F150 will now compete with RAM 1500 with a 3.0 L diesel in 2018. GM is putting a 1.6L diesel in 2018 GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox.

On a side note I emailed a representative at CARB today regarding the FCA 3.0 L diesel testing holdup. They got back to me with 24 hours. Basically, they can't say anything as its a confidential matter between them, EPA, and FCA.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

Not much stats on the WK2 but the % of Rams allocated with engine choices is 20% for the diesel and 60% of buyers are conquest from competing brands (a very hard thing to do with truck buyer brand loyalty). Ram Truck Increases EcoDiesel to 20 Percent Of Ram 1500 Production - Diesel Army

Range Rover Sport / new Disco is currently being ordered with a 3.0 turbo diesel and it's also an option on the upcoming new Discovery as well. BMW just got it's 3.0 turbo diesel 2017 approved in October in addition to new available options at Jaguar now has it in the XF, XE and F Pace. GM has the Cruze and the Terrain with a 1.6 liter coming out next year. Daimler is waiting approval in same boat as FCA.

5 months on order. Canceling today, I guess it is not meant to be, maybe next year.

Mine 2015 took 4.5 months (same reason). Great vehicle, was worth the wait.

Curious to hear your experience with the cancellation process.

Are you just cancelling the diesel options and reverting to a gas V6/V8 or completely cancelling altogether?

If the latter, are you buying another vehicle from the same dealer or not?

If buying from a different dealer, are you able to get all of your initial deposit back?

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

I've been waiting since October 21 for my diesel order. I got a call from my dealer last Friday, not my salesman but another. He said that since it had been 60 days, they were going to refund my $500 deposit. He assured me that my order is still in at factory. He had no news on the EPA certification, but said he wanted to check in to see if I wanted to continue to wait on a diesel, cancel and walk away (my deposit would still be refunded), or cancel and order a gas GC. I told him I will continue to wait... for now. He followed up with an email and my deposit was refunded to my credit card on Monday.

I ordered mine in August from Koons. I just cancelled and bought a 2016 I found. They were great. Refunded my deposit no problem. They were great to work with. I'll buy from them again.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

I'm too stubborn. Ordered in October so I feel like I'm too far gone to throw in the towel. There have been fiat motors added almost daily over the fast couple of weeks to the ARB website so I feel like the diesel is bound to finally show up. Or maybe I'm an eternal optimist.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

This doesn't sound good.
The Reuters article specifically talks about the delayed release of the 2017 vehicles.
