Diesels being held up for testing?

Does anyone know the status of the new diesels? I hear they are being held up for testing. I ordered a 2017 but it had an estimated ship date of Oct. 17 but no word yet. Last time I checked it has not shipped and was in paint on Oct.22.

You are correct....ALL US JGC Ecodiesels are on hold..to include the one that I ordered....the ONLY ones currently shipping are for export only. That being said...I'm sure that FCA is doing all they can to get them certified by the EPA...as they are not only doing it for the JGC...but also the ever so popular Ram 1500 Ecodiesel's....so aaahhh...yeah....I'm sure its a priority...I know its easier said than done...but have patience....I believe we will see them shipping soonest!....I wish I knew more...but I don't.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

Thanks for the response. From what I have been reading this delay is affecting most all diesels. This is my first vehicle I have ordered from the factory so I am a little impatient. I will be checking with the dealer tomorrow and I will let you know if I learn anything new.

That would be great as I am considering pulling the trigger on an order soon and am wondering what sort of timeframe I can expect...

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

Just received a call from my dealer making it official. My ED is on schedule to be built, probably this week, but will be sent to storage until the certification mess gets straightened out.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

Went threw this when I ordered my Jeep diesel back in Oct 1, 2014. It was a 2015 but on hold due to the new Cat system being installed and emissions approval, that was giving the 14's so much trouble. It was built and put in storage and delivered to me Feb 2015. Too long of a wait. But the vehicle has been great! I did not do the S27 shifter recall. Such a band-aid. They should just install a 2016 shifter. Sorry I went astray.

Re: Diesels being held up for testing?

Vote for Trump and maybe we can get diesels again. Sick of the liberal agenda attack on diesel so as to push people onto battery hybrids.

That wasn't the case with my 2014...mine was ordered in mid October of 2013 and built on 13 November 2013. The dealer had it by the 25th of November and I bought it on 29 November 2013 and I'm still driving it now. There was a small issue with the DEF tanks back in late 2013 which delayed shipping but not by much. The emissions certifications were already obtained...or at least to the best of my memory they were.
