Diesels just got a bit cheaper

Quick update:

As of yesterday, Luxury Group II (AHN) is no longer required to order an EcoDiesel on the Limited. Also, the advanced tech package (ADG) isn't required on Overland to get a EcoDiesel.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

I noticed this a few days ago. I saw some Limiteds on a dealer lot that had the diesel and not the Luxury package. Certainly helps save some cash if you don't really want that package.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

Its been that way for a while.
I was having trouble finding diesel with the Lux group here in Atlanta.
That being said, the Lux group is $1K cheaper if you opt for the diesel vs gas.

Also I noticed the dealers here add the sunroof and a couple other things that make the price close to if you had the Lux group.
The standard sunroof also cuts down rear seat room compared to the pano roof.
If you get a diesel limited, the lux group is really a good deal.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

Sounds like a good start. I wish they'd break up the option packages a little more so I could pick what I do and don't like.

I wonder if this move was always planned as part of the 2014 run or if it was prompted by something?

any trick to getting jeep.com to allow this in their build and price? every time I add the diesel on the limited it auto adds the luxury II.

Don't choose 4x4.
Seems right now only 4x2 can opt out of the lux2 group.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

I think the 4x2 Limited already didn't require lux2.

I played with the build and price page and it seemed a little bit confused, sometimes reporting different required additions for the same change. You may be better off calling a dealer you like and asking about it if you're really interested.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

The build function probably has not been updated, that's all. Web programming can have a backlog of work. Just price it out, then subtract the lux package cost yourself. The dealer won't have any problem at all.

Re: Diesels just got a bit cheaper

finally fixed the bugs on the website. you can build the 3.0 without auto adding lux II on 4x4.
