Do you know what this clicking sounds is (video)

Hello - I've owned my JGC Ecodiesel for about 10 months now. Just hit the 11k mark on the odometer and also just started to get the transmission shudder. Regardless, I do love this rig!

Anyway, can anyone name the clicking noise in the video? Happens about every 3 seconds and doesn't matter if I am in park or drive.

2014 JGC EcoDiesel clicking sound ? - YouTube

Thanks!

Sounds like igniter plugs on turbine engine. :-D take to dealer and maybe there will be some awareness messages that will come up when they plug into OBD2 port that aren't throwing CEL

Not normal...mine doesnt click like that. I'd let the dealer diagnose that.

Mine does that same thing until truck is fully warmed up. Then it stops. Have you checked it after it's been running for a bit?

Mine clicks too. I assume it was the DEF injector firing.

Mine has only done it when warm. The video was taken after a 30 min commute. I'll take it in this week and see what the dealer has to say. Thanks.

Page 63 of the Diesel Owners Manual Supplement provides this note:

Your vehicle is equipped with a DEF injection system. You may occasionally hear an audible clicking noise from under the vehicle at a stop. This is normal operation.

Could this be what you're hearing?

YES...it could be the AC compressor cycling. Good point.

Exactly what I was going for. If it was cycling between on and off-which it does do quite often when it's in auto, that could be the cause.
