Driving with P20ee code

Hello all, hoping for some advice. My wife's 14 ecodiesel just got a mil with this code today. I understand it's probably the cat. Here's the dilemma. She pcs moves to hawaii soon and has to ship her car on Tuesday. Of course the dealer can't get us in before that. Do you think she'll have any issues with just over a 400 mile drive to Dallas for the shipment? Then we can let the dealer in Hawaii deal with it. Don't see a much better solution, so really just hoping for some reassurance since I can't make the drive with her. Thanks for the help.

Should have mentioned, just over 14k miles. From the looks of it we are the newest members of a growing club.

YMMV, but most of us were driving with an active P20EE for a few weeks without any major issues while waiting for the replacement CAT. Only issue for me was the inability to remote start in a north-east winter (MIL disables remote start).

Re: Driving with P20ee code

I put 600 miles on with no issue. Light will probably turn off after a while. City driving with regen to follow seems to be what triggers ours.

Re: Driving with P20ee code

Hypothetically, I've been driving with it on and off for months while the dealer tries to fix it. A new cat is on back order so I just clear it out almost every 24hrs. now so the remote start will work.

We put 4,000 miles with it on waiting for new CAT with no issues.

Re: Driving with P20ee code

I put several hundred miles with no issues. Have been back to the dealership for fixes and they never said anything about the miles, not even a sideways funny look.

Re: Driving with P20ee code

Ya, I finally got the CEL code reader says P20EE. I am at 7800 miles and the dealer looked at it today. Of course I had copies of the 2 applicable Service Bulletins 18-045-14(P20EE code) and 18-018-14 Rev. E(PCM update) with me. This is the first time for CEL with that code. The dealer said it indicated I needed to update the PCM to Rev.E. Sooooo.......... let's see if that solves it. I have my doubts but time will tell. Thanks to this site I will be prepared if that code keeps reappearing. I still love my ride.

Re: Driving with P20ee code

My son had the Cat replaced and the code came back. Also had def injectors and pump changed. Seems this code is a problem that they have no fix for. Oh the update makes it go away for a while. I drive 95 percent of my miles on the highway for 50 minutes at a time and I tend to stay at a relatively constant speed. So I have never seen a code that said a regen was needed or even in process.

Same here. When I went back to the dealer for troubleshooting it they said one of the pin connectors for the cat was faulty, somehow broken or tweaked or something. That's what they told me, anyway. They fixed that and they're working on something else unrelated, so I don't have it back yet.

I've had that code trip several times since I bought mine 10 months ago. I wrote about it in another thread I started, titled something like MIL & P20EE again & again & again.

I hope my problem is solved. raptor you might want to mention this to your son. Might be that pin connector is prone to problems. Good luck.

Re: Driving with P20ee code

So everyone with this problem needs to call (877)426-5337 (Jeep Satisfaction Hotline) and report to to Jeep that this is an occurring issue that needs to be resolved so they make this a recall. I had my CAT replaced at 17,000 miles and I just got the same code at 23,000 miles. Issue is not resolved. It is in the shop today... The more people that call the sooner we have our Jeeps back.
