Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

One of the factors may be that we are driving appx 80 mph steady on 75 and the wind drag may reduce it to 26ish....
I am in fla now and I assume it would be non winter blend down here...
It just seems a little weird that I took a 3000 mile trip pre flash and actually averaged appx 30 mpg in oct in New England and now on this trip post flash can barely get over 26 mpg. Appx 1500 miles so far to gage it by......

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

My wife is driving our new GC. She was driving a Murano in her daily driving up until 18 months ago and she got 15 mpg tank after tank with that thing. Now she has a much more powerful GC and seems to be averaging about 24 mpg, or somewhere around a 60% improvement.

I'll report something more accurate once we have a few weeks in the vehicle.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

New flash dropped my MPG for a while but now it seems to be back close to what it was before the flash. I have 30K on the vehicle now and manually record every fill up and miles driven. I have 100 mile round trip commute and 60 percent is interstate and 40 percent is country two lane roads with some city. In the winter I hover around 26 which also has a lot to do with how much city driving I do. In the summer it is up around 28 with a few 29's where I probably drove mostly to work. In my case my averages are typical of a full week as I commute 500 and usually fill up as I close in on 600 miles. My mileage at the beginning was not as good and around 10K it began matching the numbers I listed above. Very hilly highway commute so I am sure in Ohio or some place where it is mostly flat I could easily average 30 MPG in the summer. I used additive for a bit but all it seemed to do was bump up the avg cost per mile. I also hardly ever let the Jeep idle either to warm up or sitting at a drive up because I always go into a fast food place. Over the holidays because I was hauling people around I did allow the vehicle to warm up a bit and I did not really see that much of a difference but I still have that old hippie attitude that it is wasteful to just let a vehicle sit there burning fuel. Hell the seat and steering wheel warms up pretty quick so for me it is not a big deal.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Raptor, I too manually log every fillup and miles driven. I'm at 12K miles now. My commute is a short one.

Oh and I also never warm up my rig. I just start and drive off, being gentle on the pedal until she has warmed up to operating temp.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

What do you guys get doing short city trips or stop and go type traffic? Still above 20?

Haha. In the winter with that kind of driving pattern I get 13 to 15 mpg on my 2014 Summit EcoDiesel, as long as I go easy on the accelerator and coast whenever I can.

The majority of my miles are short and stop and go traffic. I get around 22-23.

I almost can't believe this vehicle can get 13-15 MPG?? I have NEVER been under 21 under any conditions....

Haha, yeah, I was somewhat surprised to find out my stock EcoDiesel generally gets worse fuel economy, both in town and on the highway, than the 2000 Lexus LS400 V8 I was driving around before. Oh well!

Fortunately, I've been essentially trouble-free and don't encounter any active regen messages or the dreaded P20EE.

Are you running #1 diesel or a heavy winter mix of some sort? Those numbers don't seem right. What do you get on the highway?
