I just made the same trip over Easter weekend the temps were in the 70's vs the 40's and I averaged 20.1 this time.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Our normal weekday commute and trips to the store average around 25-26 MPG while our 2008 CRD was only around 21-22 MPG.

Highway mileage on the 2008 was only around 25 if I kept it below 65 MPH. Now we get 30+ even at 75 MPH.

I love the Ecodiesel as I'm able to get around 30 mpg at 70 mph most of the time. That is phenomenal for a truck like this and so quiet when it does this.

I had an '07 CRD and the transmission on it was from the SR8 of the same year as the Hemi transmission could not handle the torque from the CRD. That meant gearing was made for a HIPO v8 engine and why it spun at 2,700 RPM at 70 mph which was way too high for a resting RPM on a diesel at that speed. I will note that towing with the 5 speed in the '07 and GDE tune running 2,700 RPM you had gobs of power and it never had to downshift to go up any hills when I was above 60 mph. Just chug along pulling 5k+ lbs enclosed trailer.

OTOH the acceleration on the CRD was phenomenal as it was almost as fast as the Hemi in 0-60 and was faster to 0-30. I did get a DPF delete and the GDE Eco tune which bumped up torque to 465 ft lbs and increase accelerator response so that I could break loose all 4 wheels if I floored it from a standstill. I surprised the hell out of many camaros and mustangs and had a small altercation with an SRT8 from a light to a merging lane and won (caught that guy by surprise). I was in the correct lane and he thought he could just easily beat me in the merging lane.

Here's my planned 2,200-mile route: https://goo.gl/maps/o3Cle.

ROAD TRIP!

I'm now in Vegas as I write this. Today we head back home to San Francisco. We got a late start from home at the beginning of the trip, so I drove fast and not at the speed limit. I've been at 10-15 over the speed limit on almost all of the open highway miles and I'm enjoying the effortless power, comfortable ride, and good MPGs.

So far 1,600 miles since leaving home and a lot of that was cruising at 80, 90, sometimes 95. That's cruising speed, and at times I was very briefly over 100, 110. For the whole trip I've gotten 23MPG. Not bad, for driving so fast.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Hi everyone,
Yesterday, I just drove my new ( 99% new , 4200kms ) 2014 GC Summit Diesel for 420 kms ( 262 mi. ) on a 4-lane highway at 115 -117 kmh.
I got 8.1 l/100 km over that trip. Or, 29.1 mpg.
I am very satisfied, wow.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Another trip to Perth and back this weekend.

Filled up before leaving Perth and took these shots when I got home.
* Wet road for most of the trip and very busy, 8.4l/100 or 27.2 mpg the best I could obtain with cruise on & eco off. Still a lot better than my previous vehicle.

My model is a 1/14 build Laredo. i know it's only rim size but do the limited & summit/Overlander owners with 20" tyres get any better consumption?

I see posts with 7's for speeds of 117 per klm hour. there's no way I could achieve these figures unless it was downhill the whole way.

Very close to first service now

* Sitting higher up following heavy spray from vehicles is an added bonus in the GC. Also saw about 8 WK2's on the road yesterday. Wondering if any were members on here.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

I made two fuel stops when heading up the coast from Sydney, my total running avg is in the top right corner (9.6L in crawling traffic up pennant hills road) then I broke free after Newcastle and headed to the camp ground and sat on 120kph in the 110 zones and was pleased with the results..

I'm about to head to Canberra so will be interesting to see what I get there.. If you slow it down to 100kph on a flat area she will drop to 5/6L.

I'm not sure if you purposely uploaded your pic upside down, or if it just came that way because it was taken down under, but either way it's hilarious.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

27,000 kms avg 10.1L/100kms

Front end has three hoop Bull Bar and bash plate 168kgs plus 11,000 lb winch. Fully Equipped Mopar Bash Plates and tow bar add another 80kgs. roof rack 25kgs. rocksliders 40kgs.

So no more windcheaters front end and plenty of extra weight.

Round trip to Town I can sneak 8.3 but use the throttle as the vehicle deserves to be driven and I'll be at 10.2

Cheers

Not intentional, not sure why it came out that way, could be cause it's from my iPad but not thru the app...

Here's my Canberra run..

Also, my running avg in the top left has not been reset since the day I took delivery of the car..
