Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Re-run of a previous trip last night. Not quite certain I believe the 36.75 mpg over 260 miles @ 65 mph.

EVIC tank average, though the result was 29.8 mpg when manually calculated:

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

You can't average a tank with the EVIC since it only averages the last 300 miles....so it isn't a "tank" average. Trips over 300 miles won't be a true average either.

Good to know, as that is consistent with what I would expect for this particular tank's calculation. Thanks. BTW, is that window average based on precisely 300 miles, or was that an approximation?

However, the trip average still seems high to me; I would have to repeat it before I were comfortable with the value. Maybe next time I will try filling the tank before/after each leg to do a comparison.

I first saw the 300 mile rolling average theory on a RAM forum and started watching both my trip meters to cinfirm. I can reset Trip A and B at different times and 300 miles after the last reset, they will both read the same average after 300 miles. This tells me they have a 300 mile rolling average.

Smile Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Just took my second highway trip and now have 1600 miles on the vehicle. (4x4). On both trips I ran at 70 MPH with and w/o Cruise and posted a best of 31.7 mpg and lowest of 30.0 mpg. I drove from Chicago to Detriot did siteseeing over the weekend then back to Chicago on one tank and still had 4 gallons remaining. I have the MPG gauage visible in the Driver Info Area and try to use an extremely light throttle. The MPG is amazing compared to my old 2005 Hemi Limited. I am now longer a "Friend of OPEC".

Sorry for the repetitive jibberish post. I think I butt typed that somehow...

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

I have a 13 Outback with 3.6R 5spd auto and my JGC bests my Outback by 4-5 mpg in town an interstate 3-4 mpg. I see 25 plus in town and 28 plus interstate at the same speeds I use my Outback for.

Very pleased with my JGC. Only had a couple updates and the fuel door done. Will be doing my first oil change at a little over 8K miles and will send Blackstone a sample to include TBN to see how much life is left in the oil...

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Just drove from Austin Texas to Durango Colorado. Maintaining 75 to 80 mph most of the way. Got 27 mpg on the nose according to the computer.

I now have 6500 trouble free miles on her.

I'm happy with 27 considering the speed an 4x4

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

One thing I have noticed is, I think I lost a few MPG with the latest flash update.. Runs as good as ever but never see the numbers I used to see. This also may be caused by 20 deg weather that has arrived also, but overall I think my mileage is down...

Finished the last leg of the trip from Durango to Salt Lake City . We detoured north through the mountains to Silverton and on to Grand Junction. Breathtaking scenery by the way. The slower speed limits bumped the over all 1350 mile trip average to 29.5 mpg.

Couldn't be happier.

I've also seen and taken a hit in mileage of recent. The temperatures here in Wisconsin haven't broke into the 20s the last week, and I've seen a 2 mile per gallon loss.
