Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Just completed a 3,400 mile road trip, mostly highway driving (speeds up to 80 MPH), full load (3 people and luggage), with even some off roading thrown in. Averaged 26.1 MPG. I am happy.

Eco Diesel Mileage

On our first trip we managed 28 mpg avg hwy, with a little city mixed in maybe 10%. I'm especially impressed with the range. We drove from Houston, TX to Lafayette, LA and back on a little less than 3/4 of a tank. I would have to fill up my truck each way.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

I did a 1000 mile road trip from FL up GA coast, averaged 27 running 80MPH with radar cruise control on at all times. Only had 500 miles on engine at the time. Expecting better mileage once it is broken in with a few thousand miles.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

I just turned 17,100 miles on my 2014-nary a problem. None. Nada. Zilch. zip. Currently on revision D of software update, original cat and dpf. MPG has been consistent @ 27.7 - cold tempature have greater affect on this engine than I would of thought.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

Just got back from vacation and had a rental Explorer with the 3.5 v6. This includes some city but mostly highway (going from Daytona Beach to Orlando and back) going 60-75 mph. The average over the week was just shy of 17 mpg (reset the trip and ave mpg so was not hand calc). I drove it the same way as I would drive my Ecodiesel and I'd estimate I'd be about 27-28 MPG in the diesel. I could not get used to seeing the fuel gauge drop so quickly and having to fuel up so often (that was a pain as it took over 1/4 tank each trip so 1/2 tank there and back and it's only 70 miles each way). I'm now finding the love of not having to stop to gas up so often in thirsty big SUVs.

Re: Eco Diesel Mileage

I'm going to be filling my tank for the first time today after work. Just has 623 miles on it. If this was my jeep before this (05 GC Hemi) I'd be getting ready for my 3rd fill up. Distance to empty still says 55 miles. It's been a 30/70 split of city/highway miles. Loving the diesel so far.

I just did a 6k loop of the western us in winter conditions, maintained a steady 26-28 mpg the whole time.. engine seems sensitive to low temps, it may pay to block off the upper grill to limit the cooling at below freezing temps..

1600 mile trip for me last week (800 each way). 29.1 on the way down with B20 and 40-50 degree temps, on the way back (temps approaching zero), I was at ~25 with #2 blend.
