Re: EcoDiesel Which Oil Will You Use

I would not go 10,000 Miles between oil changes. For me it would be twice a year. That might be a bit excessive because I don't drive a lot, but oil is very cheap compared to engines. Especially diesel engines.

Re: EcoDiesel Which Oil Will You Use

700klm off my first service, I only have one dealer here and they have been using Total oil, but the service manager tells me they can't get it anymore (prob a price decision)

I've just located this Shell product: Shell Helix HX7 ECT 5W-30

$42.95 per 5lt @ Supercheap

Has Chrysler MS11106 rating

https://www.shell.com.au/products-se...-ect-5w30.html

What draws me to this is that being a major brand here in Aust, the availability nationwide should not be an issue.

I use motor oil that meets the Chrysler MS-11106 standard and ACEA C3 ,5W-30, synthetic low ash. It is Pennzoil Ultra Euro L full synthetic, 5w-30 motor oil. My dealer does my oil changes and furnishes the oil. I currently 24500 miles on the vehicle with no issues.

FYI - that's the factory fill and is also one of the only 2 recommended oils for the Diesel Jeep

This is great news. I would use this oil in a heartbeat if I could only find it to buy. I'm using Pennzoil Ultra Euro, but would change to this tomorrow. Thanks for the post.

Is Shell "Helix" even available in the states? I've never seen it anywhere in Arizona. Only on banners on Formula 1 circuits in far away places.

Billt, I would use Pennzoil if i could get it here, I'm happy to find a readily available oil "down under" that meets the Chrysler specs and is cost effective.

This may help: Shell Station Locator and Route Planner - United States

Cheers

Good thing, saw an analysis of Total Quartz iNEO, very uninspiring. Mobil1 ESP has been the best C3/229.51 oil I've seen an analysis of. Motul 8100 X-clean looked good too.

Shell owns Pennzoil, for marketing purposes they don't use the Helix brand in the US market. Most likely Pennzoil Euro-L is the same formulation as Helix HX7 ECT, or very similar.

Re: EcoDiesel Which Oil Will You Use

Good evening, I'm from Brazil. Forgive the typos, you're using google translator.
In March 2015 I bought a GC limited diesel and am so far satisfied.
I'm thinking of installing a power chip or chip peformance or tunnig (I do not know how you call it)
In Brazil the jeep cars are not very popular so do not have many people to exchange information.
I wonder if putting chip and removing it when you take the revisions Dealers (durantre guarantee) they must detect that my jeep had installed chip
thank you for help.
