Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

Hey folks,

If you have the limited model, and didn't pre-order, did yours come with the factory hitch or did you have to order it? I find it silly that a diesel with these towing capabilities doesn't come with the hitch installed....

Overland came with. I agree should be standard on all models.

I agree. And the Ltd should have dual exhausts.

I believe the Ltd lost dual exhausts for the 2015 model year.

Re: Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

I'm debating trying to plea bargain with Jeep to see if they'll give me some discount on parts or dealer install. In the 2 times I've asked the dealer, I got quotes for about $420 and $650. Extreme difference there.

Seems a little ridiculous to not be pre-installed on a diesel.

My 2015 Limited diesel had dual exhaust. I think the 2015 limited v6 has single exhaust. I ordered the factory tow package. In addition to the hitch and wiring, there are also other things included, like heavy duty engine cooling, that can't be added after market.

Per moonbeam, I stand corrected.

Re: Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

My 2014 Limited came with the factory hitch. I think it was included as part of the ORA 2 package I had ordered.

Re: Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

My Summit has it hidden behind a removable panel. I like thats its hidden, however on my old Jeep it stuck out and it protected the rear of the jeep from anyone bumping into it.

Your right and that's the frustrating part. I don't have plans to haul anything over 4k and there aren't really any big hills around here so should be ok. Around town kind of stuff.

Re: Factory Hitch - Whose came with?

I had the dealer install the factory style hitch on my 2014. The window sticker said my diesel came with heavy duty cooling. It doesn't have the load leveling shocks.

I had the factory tow package on my 2011 v6. The load leveling shocks started clanking at 70k miles. The price to replace them was high.

I use a weight distribution hitch when towing my TT anyway.
