Ok, so if I'm understanding you right, you're using a larger spacer to get out past where the inside of the rim rubs up against the outside of the caliper. 1/8" isn't going to get me to that point, so I would need 1/8" + some way to shave down the caliper so that it doesn't rub up on the inside of the rim...

exactly, jsut remember a properly set-up hubcentric wheel spacer has no extra adverse effects on wheel bearings that most people complain about

Badass trip, stories and pics!

This is motivation at it's best to get the Jeep out there and tackle some obstacles!

Not so sure about your confidence with those sliders though. They protect nothing compared to the Mopar ones, but glad to see they made it out sans being ripped off.

Okay, glad I'm not alone in thinking that way. But I seriously applaud your efforts in putting them to the test!

*Edit -

What kind of roof tent are you using?

**Edit - Again

Just saw it listed in your sig. NVM.

So did you have to shave down the caliper at 2.5" or was there enough gap that far back? I'd like to keep the spacer as small as absolutely possible just because I'd like to still use the original threads for keeping the wheels on...

I've thought about going to the smaller brake system but I'd hate to lose the stopping power with the heaviest engine and in towing situations...

I corrected my wheel spacer sizes, I thought I was using 2.5" and realized they were 1.5" spacers

No i did not need to shave at 1.5" but the wheels accumulate mud and cause issues with the clearances, thus I would go with 1.75 which would create the clearance you need

you will not be able to use the original threads..... you use a spidertrax

these are what I would use

Jeep WK2 1.75" Thick Wheel Spacers

What trails did you do at Arches? Isn't Elephant Hill in Canyonlands?

I live in Denver so I'm going to head over there in my 2012 WK2 eventually.
