Nope, same procedure for them too.

I have gotten it on the second try both times. I think the key might be to slow down. No doubt most people feel rushed by the "3x in 10 seconds" part, but really that's a lot more time than is necessary. Invariably, the first time I do 3x in 3 seconds and it doesn't reset. Then I slow it down...

I feel for you guys down under who have to start the engine as part of the process, though. What's up with that?

Use them on all my vehicles.

They offer the '14 but not the '15 for the JGC. They should be the same, correct?
Also, the website indicates the part is 14mm? I thought the plug was 13mm?
Thanks in advance.

Can you tell us how many miles and what did you use for oil?

Re: First oil change some info and comments

I did the reset procedure, on the second time the oil % was reseted, but milage to last reset jumped to 655K LMAO... had to re-do the procedure 4 times to finally get all to zero...if my GC run's and look like it does at 655K miles, i'm happy!!!

Re: First oil change some info and comments

Has anyone found a good source for the updated oil filters? A link would be great. I will (reluctantly) consider aftermarket at this point as the cost is exorbent on these things.

It would be great (but probably not profitable) if someone had an oil change kit that included the 8 quarts, the OEM filter and a crush washer for the drain plug, all at a competitive price. I really don't like putting so much effort in to getting an oil change. And the dealer says they don't have the supplies to do it either!

Also, does anyone have a torque number for the drain plug?

Thanks!

That's a really large difference in price. These filters are only about $9 a piece compared to $60 apiece for the OEM parts.

I've always insisted on OEm filters but this price difference is significant. Any thoughts on this?

To top it off, this website has an address in Austin not but 15 minutes from my home!

Re: First oil change some info and comments

I went with the OEM at $60, I ordered an aftermarket one to check it closely and compare. Have not received it yet. If you are close by the vendor, I would appreciate your input as well, if you go there...I read that the "crushed" washer comes with the drain plug at $20 somewhat bucks...

as for the torque specs, I have always went with 20ft-lbs for the drain plug and 18 ft-lbs for the plastic filter housing...maybe someone else could chime in with the true specifications, if mine are not proper.

Re: First oil change some info and comments

I contacted them about the oil filters, but you know he is just an internet operation. He doesn't stock anything.

It's only $28 for 3. I might have to just order the pack, and then go to the dealer and compare visible quality with OEM.

But I might just wait for your opinions too Morax.

Ultimately, the things that matter (i.e. restriction & efficiency) are not going to be something you can notice from a visual check.

Usually I'm not this cheap but a $60 oil filter is pretty silly.

Re: First oil change some info and comments

Nobody pointed out the filters in link are Korean made "will fit" filters?

Sure save $20, but when the filter tears from improper adhesives and potentially damages your engine. Who gets held accountable?

At this point unless Wix or Donaldson offer a filter I would only use OEM.
