It's only $28 for 3. I might have to just order the pack, and then go to the dealer and compare visible quality with OEM.

But I might just wait for your opinions too Morax.

Ultimately, the things that matter (i.e. restriction & efficiency) are not going to be something you can notice from a visual check.

Usually I'm not this cheap but a $60 oil filter is pretty silly.
Please let us know what you find if you order these. Thanks.

Re: First oil change some info and comments

Is the $60 a price from a dealers parts counter? If so you can get them cheaper from an online dealer. many dealers have a parts website with prices well below what they sell for over the counter.

heres one, but there are many. just put in the part # and select "jeep" from the drop down menu:

Sure save $20, but when the filter tears from improper adhesives and potentially damages your engine. Who gets held accountable?

At this point unless Wix or Donaldson offer a filter I would only use OEM.

Does it matter they are Korean made
Bearing in mind that the OME jeep oil filters are made in China

And normally I would prefer Korean made over Chinese made goods...But what I am worried about is the built specifications...ie: MOPAR dictates procedures and components to use for fab...so mostly labor and moulding are done in China for that filter....But on the other hand, the Koreans are strong in development and finish goods as well....

I think you make a valid point but m understanding is that the Ram Eco-D guys have been running the less expensive oil filters for some time.

I'll do some research on the topic.

The F106 is the one several of us fitted on our JGC EcoDiesel's.

Here's a special they have :

As far as I am aware, they did not change the drain plug on the 2014/15 EcoDiesels. Best to call a dealer and check the part numbers.

Great idea, I just ordered one for my next oil change.

I also ordered the safety lever clip: Fumoto-Lever-Clip-Small

I have an F106S as well; I used the plastic clip and it held in place for 10k miles without any issue.

Re: First oil change some info and comments

I installed the F106 a few days ago as well.

Only thing I didn't like was that it suck down past the sound deadening material.

Hopefully I don't end up running over an animal going down the interstate and ripping it out.

Yeah, that's why I ordered the F106S. I found that the detachable nozzle + tubing is effectively extraneous. I suppose it might help prevent a mess if one is draining oil during a tornado, but otherwise the oil drains quite cleanly with the short nozzle alone.
