Search "Fishbites" on this forum. The Hemi and CRD have had numerous reports. The V6 is too anemic to shudder.

I have the shudder problem, had it for a few weeks, started at about 5,000 miles it did not occur before then. Now its getting worse and more frequent. Its very annoying. I had not been on the forum for a while and had no idea it was a "common" fault. This at least helps prepare for tge dealer.

Prepare for what? They can't fix it.

Be prepared to have your jeep down for a while with them not "able to replicate" the issue.

Get TSB 21-026-14 applied. The fishbiting is gone, and mine was bad.

I had the TSB done today 9/16/14 and there was a significant difference when I drove it home. I was very happy with the results.

Re: For all of those having issues with their Trans

Theory #263: I think the fishbite is fixed in GC'S that haven't had the torque converter stressed. If the dampener springs haven't been bottomed out, they may be stronger and not set off the shudder on lockup. The TC shudder may cause engine management to react irratically which makes it oscillate until demand changes enough for it to recover. The new TSB seems to have softened the lockup and raised the rpm at engagement. This helps but I'm not sure it isn't just a patch. Shudder may return with time. Mine started shuddering after 8k miles, not when it was new.

Fact #1. The tcm is requesting defuel/torque management when it happens

which, if not handle properly in programming, makes matters worse by overreacting.
