Fuel Filter Change

Hello, I'm about to change my 2) Fuel Filters myself after a sub-par interaction with my dealership.

I was advised by them that they can't inspect the filter due to the fact that Fuel will all come out and I believe this to be false.

Has Anyone who has changed their own fuel filters experienced all their fuel dumping out everywhere, or is it just a bit of Fuel that may be in the filter and general area?

Thanks in advance

Re: Fuel Filter Change

approximately 1/4-1/3 gal of diesel comes out. You can drain it out from the water in fuel drain screw as it shows in the owners manual, and then have minimal dump from removing the fuel filter. Its a 10 minute job.

Re: Fuel Filter Change

In my case no where near that amount of fuel came out. I doubt it was more than 10 ozs total.
There is absolutely no reason you can't pull and reinstall the filter however you can't tell squat from looking at the filter so I don't understand you point in doing so...
