Fuel leak at motor with 280 miles.

Evening folks, just registered last night.

Been reading as much as I can the last few days since we picked up the GC last week. Lots of great info.

Unfortunately my first post isn't a good one. On the other boards I frequent I tend to be more on the giving side as opposed to receiving side.

Since picking up the GC there has been a strong fuel smell in the garage, I wrote it off as new car and new parts heating up smell. Tonight my wife pulled out and there is a nice puddle of diesel underneath. A closer look and it's coming from the back side of the motor area, thus the undercarriage in that area is soaked.

The truck was a dealer trade and I got it with 201 miles, drove it two days and put 80 miles on it, the next mile is to the dealer for diagnosis.

Will report back after troubleshooting.

Sorry yo hear you are having trouble. Leaks in Common Rail Diesels are rare but possible. Most likely a fitting is seeping due to a bad seal or improper installation. Once everything is sealed and re-torqued, you should be good for years to come. We look forward to hearing what the issue was.

Thanks Excursion.

Diagnosis is #6 cylinder injector. Waiting on an ETA for the part.

New injector and an unrelated software update. So far so good!

A newly installed injector with a crack is not unheard of. I know the Duramax guys had a batch like this. So far, this is the only one I've heard of with the VM3.0.

Thanks for the update. I'm sure you're enjoying your ride now.
