With a VGT we don't need big fuel to spool it. You guys will see soon. On a hot tune only way you will get smoke is lugging the higher gears.

Actually with the DPF intact, we WONT see it even if it does smoke. We'll just regen more often. That will be the proof of smoke or not, unfortunately.

Also, low RPM lugging is the name of the game in ECO mode. The TCU shifts early and attempts to stay in the highest gear possible. Improved torque allows lighter throttle application which enables ECO to keep RPMs even lower than stock.

Either way, I can't wait! Any idea of a ballpark estimate for your selling price?

Cool. What kind of fuel efficiency are you getting?

Wait, I'm confused. I was interested in the effect on fuel efficiency from your DPF delete, but I thought this tune isn't going to support DPF delete.

Also, how will you quantify your results vs stock in terms of assigning effect to the tune vs. the hardware mod of your DPF removal? That seems like it would be comparing apples to apple pie ala mode.

I suppose it might work if you posted stock => DPF delete performance and then a separate DPF delete => tuned w/ DPF delete analysis.

Commercial versions of the tuning software will not support dpf/scr/cat delete (at first... but I am sure it will be out soon after)....not many US based tuners are willing to sell delete tunes because of the EPA crackdowns. Hope this helps.

This is the first reference of an ACTUAL DPF/SCR delete for the NAFTA model!

I suppose these kinds of definitions are relative. I just swiped my finger over the visible black exhaust trail area in my tailpipes and each swipe left my finger with a coating of black soot.

I suppose they might have been cleaner if I regularly scrubbed the inside of the tailpipes, but that seems like an odd thing to do.

I think it's amusing that modding ECU to allow modifications to the DPF/SCR equipment has generated the most excitement in this thread. Maybe it's that most of those who are replying are fairly satisfied with the vehicle's performance in stock, with the exception of the finicky DPF/SCR. I wouldn't mind a performance bump, of course.

There is only so much gain to be had until you free up the turbo by getting rid of the filter and cat. I think that is what the excitement is about.
