Interesting. I could've sworn I read that someone successfully used the high flow nozzle.

Re: Gettin' DEF'd!!!!!!!!!

While you might be able to buy some adapter to be able to stick the high-flow "commercial" nozzle in the GC, honestly, the commercial pumps are nasty, and, while I use them for my Ram, for no more fuel than the GC holds, I'm sticking to the cleaner "car' pumps!!

Nautiboy, you've got good memory. Willx posted a while back that he was successful in using the oversized Hi-Flo nozzle at a truck-stop with his SFU. I suppose we really need to go and try it by ourselves as the Hi-Flo nozzles seem to come in various sizes, and some have rings at their tips that will probably be too large for the SFU's.

Yeah, that was the exact post I was thinking of. Good find. I had done a half-hearted search attempt using nozzle as the keyword and couldn't find the post since Willx didn't use that word.

Re: Gettin' DEF'd!!!!!!!!!

I also filled up my DEF tank at a Pilot truck stop last week for $2.799/gal. The dealer filled up (at least the EVIC showed FULL) the DEF tank at purchase. With 7,500 miles on my 2014 Limited the EVIC was showing 1/8th full.

I had to go inside and let them know that I only wanted DEF as the pump was telling me I had to get diesel first.

I was only able to put 6.4 gallons in the tank.

Re: Gettin' DEF'd!!!!!!!!!

Just a little heads up fella's… tried a Marathon "high flow" pump about a week ago and it didn't seem to work. I don't feel like I fully committed (was worried about fuel spraying back out at me) so I lightly pulled the trigger with it in as far as it would go. Result was a nice little splash of diesel coming back out and a tad bit running down the pain. Learned my lesson and will wait until we figure out exactly what pumps will work for SURE before doing it again (at least in the cold weather).

Now I'm worried about getting her hand washed again… hope the layer of wax I applied keeps the diesel from messing with the paint at all.
