Re: Great gas mileage

Outstanding! I routinely pull 28 plus MPG at 75MPH travelling up the East Coast on 1100 mile trips (roof racks and all. Next step is a call to Green Diesel Engineering.

Re: Great gas mileage

Been using Mileage keeper phone app, since day one of ownership.
Over 15K miles and 500 gallons of diesel. 29.3 MPG😎
My dash gage reads 30.3 MPG since new.
Milegage keeper app should be dead accurate.

Re: Great gas mileage

I average just 24. I think it had to do with the oversized all terrain tires I picked up

Re: Great gas mileage

There is no way anyone is averaging 40+ mpg. Maybe for a second or cruising down hill but those numbers are not to be believed especially with higher density altitudes. Use a gps on your phone to record and figure mileage.

Just because you can not fathom it or attain the same in your vehicle does not mean it is not possible. If your doing a steady 50-55 mph on flat ground and @ relative altitude it is absolutely possible to achieve 40+ mpg. There was an individual that drove a stock GC EcoDiesel from downtown Chicago to Texas Super Speedway on just ONE tank of diesel. Google it. YouTube it. The internet is your friend.

That's not an average then, is it? Resetting the computer once up and going with no need for acceleration and in your Chicago case, a tailwind, doesn't cut it. I might as well say "I get 50+mpg" in my Jeep. I wouldn't be lying I see it all the time on the dash. It's not what the vehicle gets. I have my trip computer from over the past 6,000miles. I'd say that's more accurate. While I drive harder than most I still know the JGC does not get 40+mpg. Use fuely over a few tanks then get back to me.

Re: Great gas mileage

Hey!!!!

I would never call a Texan a liar lol !!

I averaged 40.5 during a one days shortish non-stop, no traffic drive in NM of 89 miles and I even pointed it out to SWMBO!

Slightly downhill, dunno! Following wind, dunno! As I am not THAT anal about our JGC gas mileage but that is what we both saw. So, it IS a fact and IIRC, we showed a range on the EVIC of over 800 miles at the time.

We regularly average over 31 mpg on road trips and have regularly seen 35mpg steady state at 55ish mph in a lot of situations. And I'm not talking about short mileages, the EVIC (IIRC) recalcs it over a 300 mile distance. At the end of each drive, I usually find a gas station and top up and write the EVIC mileage on the receipt so it is together with the fill up amount. I also find the EVIC mileage to be extremely reliable when it comes to any calculations.

Attempting to have a rational conversation with an ill-rational individual is a definition of stupidity. Since you are so prone to the fuelly.com app(incidentally, it is spelled with two "L's", not just one), here's a post about the same individual alluded to before, who managed 38mpg in a Ram EcoDiesel.
