Can't say that I have. I just had the latest trans flash done and it's relearning right now. Nothing I'd say is a hard shift, but this trans certainly likes to be warm before things get buttery smooth.

Re: green diesel engineering tune

Question for GDE:

Say I want to keep my stock ECM out of my 2015. Would a used or new 05150767AC ECM that I find elsewhere and has never been in my Jeep be able to be sent in and flashed? All you need are the VIN, trim, ACC yes/no and injector numbers off the pump cover, correct?

Re: green diesel engineering tune

It's not the tune. Jeep has a TSB on this known I think. I had an early July 2015 tune and after the dealer did the transmission TSB it is butter smooth. I also got a tune update recently. It's even better! Smoother and feels a little more torquey.

I was wondering this, also. These ECMs seem to be available at various Mopar parts stores for less than the GDE premium, even with the core charge...

Re: green diesel engineering tune

Why would you bother with two ecu? The tuned one can't be transfer to another owner vehicle without GDE retuning it. The dealer has zero clue. They misdiagnosed a MIL and had my Jeep on their system. GDE isn't detectable by the dealer.

Re: green diesel engineering tune

I don't care so much that they could identify the tune - I wouldn't think the tune itself would cause any direct warranty issues, anyway.

I'm more worried about a tech reflashing my ECM when it's in the shop for something else, then having to send it back to GDE/paying the re-tune fee/putting up with the downtime on my Jeep...

i inquired about this and this is what i was told from GDE. This ecm is $500
Mopar*CONTROL MODULE -*2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - 5150767AC
This is the same price that gde pays for their ECM($500). The other 150 is what the dealership charges them to set the ecm up for vehicle use

It's 50 odd bucks. And the software updates from GDE is worth it in my hindsight. So I was in your "worried" situation. Had a MIL that was related to extraordinary long regen intervals. The dealer didn't know what to do so they replaced my ECU. Had I had a scanner I would have known the issue and cleared it. But it's still a win-win. New GDE update has that MIL worked out and drivability has further improved imo.

I understand and had your concerns too. I spoke with my service advisor on the phone and explained my situation. He assured me it wasn't a problem and was even interested in what I had done to the vehicle. Took it in and we walked through all the updates on his tablet and didn't apply any of the PCM updates.

While I'm there, his buddy comes in with another Eco. He told him about mine and had him talk to me about it. He ended up getting the tune also.

The moral, I guess if there is one, find a good dealer how will listen to you. My dealer is mod friendly and didn't care one way or the other. My SA even took the time to go through the update list with me so I was comfortable the PCM updates would my be applied.

Nice: this is literally the ideal service dept. Name and praise your dealer, as they deserve more business.

This is valid. We buy brand new ecms from the dealer for $500. These ecms are empty and the dealer must flash in the latest stock tune, VIN and injector codes for $150 (your dealer might cost more as we worked out a deal here). Then the module is ready for us to apply the tune. Thanks, GDE

Re: green diesel engineering tune

I see that the GDE Hot Tune now has a "High Idle" option. The website has no details regarding this option, does anybody know what the "High Idle" option does?
