I will ask about your reasoning to spend 600+ to squeeze a little bit more MPG. Well 15% or more is more than a little but seems the savings go out the window because of the cost of the unit and you also possibly shorten the life of the engine and tranny as well as possibly voiding your warranty. If you have a moment could you explain or describe your thought process that lead you to buying this device.
The truck can for sure go over 100. I have taken it to a closed course and I was able to get up to 120.

But anyways I decided to buy it because I am a guy that likes to take risks. It's part of who I am. Many people are not comfortable taking risks. I like living on the edge and making the most out of life. After all we only have one and I don't like living it with regrets.

I'm technically not damaging the engine at all. The tuner is just giving me the most out of the engine. I'm happy with my purchase. Many people have run these on their engines for many years and I have not read of problems caused solely by the tuner in it's default settings. Most issues are encountered by those that change default settings. In the great schema of things, $600 is really nothing compared to what I paid for the Jeep.

well said Shadow. Hows the test driving going?

i agree that it is more about seeing the true prowess of these little engines. I am also considering a provent catch can/filter. The idea of all that sooted oil going into the intake tract of the clean new engine bothers me.

We might be cut from the same cloth.

Glad to hear I'm not alone! I actually have a trip planned to the GA mountains in the late spring to do some zip lining and see how good I am at walking the rope like your pics. Looks like an awesome experience!

As far as the driving goes, well it's been snowing here today. And Atlanta is not known for good drivers when it snows. I went to the store and it was pretty good. Did not have any troubles in the snowy roads. But not sure I will be venturing out anytime soon again.

The Jeep feels more responsive with the tuner. The turbo lag is gone. MPG usually goes down when driving on the street but it has actually gone up a bit. It still early to fully come to conclusions, but I feel good about the results I've had so far.

I'll be up there a few days. Hopefully I'll get half way there at least in the days I'm up there.

It was pretty easy to install. Took about 5-10 minutes. Just be sure the engine is cold. The cord for the tuner has a long extension for it to reach and be placed right by the fuse box.

It been going pretty good man. I've driven probably about 150 miles with the tuner on and it's like night and day. The engine feels more responsive and the turbo lag is al but gone. I'm def digging the tuner. Gas mileage wise it has been steady at 24. So that's an improvement over the 22 I was getting. But I need more driving to actually make that a credible claim. I am currently doing a fill up about once every two weeks. Just filled up tonight so I will see if I see a difference in that. Overall I'm happy with the tuner and it was money well spent.

For anyone interested, talked to a long time friend of mine who is a diesel mechanic and well he got in my head about the tuner. So I have it for sale.

Was gonna return it but figured I could be a good sport and post it for sale at a discounted price. Retails for around $630. Selling it for $390. It's posted in the classifieds in case anyone is interested.

He has been working on Diesel engines for over 10 years. Over the weekend I went to the shop he works at and he hooked the truck up to a machine. He did it both with the tuner and without. He said the tuner definitely gave it an extra kick. So up until then I was liking what I was hearing. But then he started telling me of some vehicles he had worked on that had tuners. He said the tuners were not at the default settings but instead to the highest level pushing the engine to the max. Something I was not doing. He said that the chances of the engine getting messed up the way I was running it are slim to none, but he finished his sentence with "but there is always a possibility". Long story short, he just got in my head.
