Help with coolant flush

Anyone able to help me out?

The manual says to drain the coolant out from the drain cock on the radiator, but i only get 5 litres come out. How do i drain all the coolant out of the engine too? It's supposed to be more like 13 litres.

Is there a drain plug on the engine that i can't find?

Thanks!

Haven't done this to my Jeep before, but I'd find any hoses that lead from the radiator. Disconnect them and stick a garden hose in and flush out. Then blow some compressed air in there.

Be warned, I'm not a qualified Jeep technician, and make sure it ain't the air intake.

Re: Help with coolant flush

Engine fully warmed up and heater turned on full blast?

Just some poorly educated guesses based on what I've seen with other vehicles.

The engine being warmed up opens the thermostat to allow coolant in/out of the block. The heater on full blast opens up the heater core to allow coolant in/out of the heater core. I'm not aware of there being any other restraints to coolant flow.

The standard disclaimers apply: hot coolant is under pressure and can burn you and/or erupt violently when the pressure is released while hot.

Check youtube for basic how-to on coolant flush?

Oh, and if you do this wrong and/or follow my advice and destroy your vehicle because I'm an idiot, that's on you.
