High Altitude 4wd

Not sure where to put this question. Can anyone tell me what 4wd system a 2015 High Altitude with Ecodiesel has? Is it Quadratrac 2 with single speed transfer case? I have a 2017 Overland Ecodiesel on order but not sure I can keep waiting. I have a Ford Escape now and live on a big hill where I have been stuck in snow where I can't get any tires to spin. I think it works where the brakes grip all wheels due to slipping. I think this is similar to the Quadratrac 2. So I ordered the Quadradrive 2 with limited slip to avoid this condition. Again, not sure I can keep waiting on my new order and may just buy a couple year old used instead.

Re: High Altitude 4wd

Look at the 4wd selector if you have 4wd low and crawl control you have active Drive 2 or give me the VIN and I'll get the original window sticker.

Re: High Altitude 4wd

A diesel with ORA2 should have the ELSD.

If you need wheel spin, use sand mode.

Can't tell if it has ORA2. So, if it has the standard Quadratrac2 how would it do on snow maybe with sand mode vs the Quadradrive 2?

He said to use sand mode if you want wheel spin. You don't want wheel spin. Use snow mode.

Re: High Altitude 4wd

You can have snow mode with quadra drive also. The difference is the limited slip differential that comes with the quadradrive. The limited slip differential will always give you better traction in all modes. If you are trying to decide which one to get and you have a choice, go with the quadradrive because it comes with limited slip, not available in quadra trac.

Yeah I have a Quadradrive 2 Overland on order but not sure if I can keep waiting indefinitely. I am starting to need a car. Quadradrive is harder to find so I am really deciding whether I might just go ahead and buy a used Ecodiesel with Quadratrac.
