High RPM = more particulate?

Hello All,
I'm currently at about 35K miles on 2014 limited CRD bought in Feb'14. I drive close to 100 highway miles a day.
Up until 2 weeks ago I have driven fairly conservatively, trying to get the most efficiency out of my JGC, but now I have begun to drive more aggressively in manual mode and keeping higher RPMs (never redline and stay below 6k rpm) and breaking with tranny (as much as is possible).
This past weekend I had my first visible active regen notice due to DPF being near full.

My questions are:

- does High RPM driving create more soot / bi product that would fill up DPF sooner
- does high RPM driving / engine breaking effect Diesel motors and turbos adversely

Thanks in advance

Re: High RPM = more particulate?

Diesels are not high rpm engines because the way the fuel burns over a gas engine. Running a diesel engine hard will cause the ECU to output more fuel to both provide power and help cool the engine. So in answer to your question it will cause more soot and cause more frequent regens...
