What the thread title says. We're looking for the highest mileage 2014 that has never had a single P20EE code, nor a cat issue of any sort, nor cat replacement, nor any related problem.

List your build date & current odo if your 2014 EcoDiesel has never thrown a P20EE/had cat issues/cat replacement/been to the dealer for cat issues. My sympathies to owners who have had any of these common issues, but you're disqualified.

If posting, also list if you have the March 2015 RRT PCM flash (or later version), which is putatively intended to arrest damage to the SCR cat.

I'll go, but I expect to be topped immediately:
16,000 miles
Built Dec 2013
RRT PCM flash (RRT 14-107, released 27 May 2015), applied last week.

14,800 on a 6/14 build. Hasn't been to the dealer since I took delivery. Always have used truck stop DEF. No codes yet. Going to the dealer Wednesday for a vibration issue and all the RRT's.

38k. All updates. Build date March 2014.

I had a few issues like egr valve gasket went out. Had incorrect def message but they flashed it and never came back (@25k'ish). But for sure haven't replaced the cat.

Used all mopar def except one time ( recently). But so far so good. Oh had transmissions bump and also had a bad control arm from factory

Feb 2014 build date, 20300 miles, no Def issues but the fishbite came on strong right at the 20k mark, have appointment next week. Had the MIL light come on Friday night after it sat through a heavy rain storm, it went off Saturday afternoon on its own. I don't have a reader so no idea what the code was. Any ideas?

The title of this thread implies that a P20EE/SCR cat issue is inevitable if we drive far enough. Does anyone know of a credible estimate of the incidence of this problem, and whether there is any evidence that the proportion of problems reported is more correlated with distance driven than other factors (like age, build date, driving conditions, etc., etc.)?

For the record, my June-2014 build summit has been trouble free, but so far has only driven 8500 miles.

Lots of speculation, but no one knows what factors are involved. My P20EE came at 13,700, went off by itself and hasn't (yet) returned. I'm at 15,300 now. I'm a Feb 14 build. Some with older build dates than me have had no issues.

I'm not even sure if the 2015s are immune or if they just haven't been driven far enough yet.

2/14/14 build date.
19987 miles including around 5k towing a TT.
No issues whatsoever. Dealer did TSB's/reflashes when I took it in for a tire rotation. Didn't change anything....still running like a champ and getting great mileage.
With DEF, I've filled up twice from Pilot truck stops.

Another thought to mull on. Seems to me that the late build and less drove miles may be less susceptible to the catalyst failure. My thinking is that the early models had more miles drove on the software that used more DEF. The service bulletins lowered the DEF dosing which was hooked would solve the P20EE problems. I think by the time the first one came out our was too late for the early builds with higher mileage, the damage was done. Several revision of the tsb later and the catalyst replacement came out which was just before Christmas. I think the lower miles you had and the Skinner the tsb's were applied may have led to the saving of some of the unicorns. That's just my thought.

Keep the reports coming, folks!

I (would like to) believe that most JGCs have been free of the P20EE code. I expect that it's the nature of internet forums to elicit complaints from those with problems, while most who are trouble-free are out there living their lives and enjoying their JGC CRDs and not worrying about posting to message boards or researching problems.

Therefore it is possible that people find this forum and say, see, look at all the Diesel GCs with problems! When that likely isn't the case.

I am very happy for those who have not had this problem. A little jealous, too, but I knew statistically speaking that the likelihood of problems was a tad higher with the new engine, trans, electricals and computer controllers. I took the risk, have had some problems, but am still a happy owner who loves this rig.

So... Keep the reports coming, folks!

Build date 11/13. Took delivery 5/12/14. Mileage is 32,810. It's a work car. Two trips from VA to Rockies, two trips from VA to California.

No check engine lights, no cat issues, no codes period. Always serviced by dealer, only used non-Chrysler DEF once. All current flashes (to my knowledge) and TSBs done by dealer.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself. My previous 8 work "cars" were F-250 diesels. I don't need a truck. I never tow, seldom haul anything, so I figured why not get something smaller. The only reason I wanted a diesel is that I drive 50K-60K miles a year for work.

Honestly, if Ford had a small diesel engine in the F-150 or Explorer, I probably would have gone in that direction. However, I could not be happier with this Jeep.

Feb 2014 build GC Limited - 36,000 miles with no issues other than an "incorrect DEF" message at about 7,000 miles that was corrected with a flash update. I have used only Mopar DEF installed by the dealer with each oil change. We recently returned from a 11,000 round trip to Alaska pulling a 21 foot travel trailer. We had one scare on the emissions control front. After two days of driving around 6 hours per day on rough back roads at low speeds, I got an EVIC message that said "regeneration in process. Continue driving". I had never seen this before and, based on other reports in this forum, was afraid the next message would be a warning to get to a dealer or the car won't restart -- and at this point in the trip, we were 500 miles from a dealer! But I did keep driving when I got the message, which then went off after 5 minutes or so, and it never appeared again. So I think it was a normal message resulting from so much driving under conditions that did not allow a regen.
