How can I tell if my GC needs a REGENERATION

Hi,
I have a 2014 GC Diesel with 9500 km ( 5900 miles ).
I have an OBD-II reader.

How can I tell if my Jeep needs or is close to a REGENERATION?

Thanks

Your Jeep regenerates once in about 150 miles so it has probably regenerated about 40 times already. Your best bet to find out when it regenerates is to use the EcoDiesel specific PID's to read your vehicle status. This forum has a whole thread discussing those PID's where you can find all the information needed to monitor DPF regeneration.

You can look at the soot grams with your OBD reader if you can get the full data stream. That's what the PCM is using to run a regen, which it does about every 300 miles. Forced regen is when it shows on your cluster and says drive highway speed. I believe when the soot grams were above a threshold beyond a normal regen could mitigate.
