My first ever regen did not happen until 6478 miles ! truth!!

The only code so far mine has throw is " P20E9 Reductant pressure to high." knock wood!

This was fixed by reflash mentioned by willix in another thread.
Your DPF would have filled and clogged if you went 6k without a regen. Why do you think it's not regening? The EVIC warning only displays when the normal regen fails and the DPF is approaching full. This is usually due to lack of highway driving. Normal regen goes undetected and happens within ~200 miles or less depending on driving style.

Re: How to delete DEF injection with no software/hardware

Hello Guys,

Yes I am aware scr and regen happen independent from each other.

In 5K miles I have used less than 1/4 tank of def I believe because of flash I had done for "P20E9 Reductant pressure to high" which to me sounds like the def injector nossle is/was plugged up. I have not had any other codes thrown like y'all are having knock wood.

I never got a my first ever "exhaust system regen in progress keep driving" in my evic until 6478 miles, which to me means the DPF is/was almost plugged.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

My ordeal with the cummins had different error messages, so I am learning new lingo.

Sorry
I have been up almost 40 hrs now helping my customer around the world because of time differences so I am a little punchy. I have one last customer chore before I go get some sleep!

My wifes 13 Jetta tdi is solid no problems with 21k on od.

No no no....your DPF most likely is fine. The DPF regens often and keeps itself cleaned out. Probably you had a time when you happen to not drive at highway speeds often enough so you didnt regen successfully and therefore got the EVIC message to drive. If you then drove at 50 mph continuously for 15 minutes, it regened and you are good to go.

ExcursionDiesel

Thanks for the response, if you go back to my post I made a couple of edits in yellow.

You sir have more patients than me, I would have had them buying back the JGC after all you have been through.

I liked my Ram cummins but 38 days in the shop for business vehicle is not acceptable and was stuck along the hwy once and while out of town on business I spent a day at a dealership them doing parts swapping.

So far my JGC has had few problems an is coming up on 1 year old in NOV, I hope it continues but would love to do the deletes I spoke of earlier.

I hope every one gets sorted out.

Can we ban together and express our concerns as a group, yes I am aware the site owner and several others actually work at the plant and are helping push our problem and concerns up the ladder so to speak.

But I was think something more formal like class action letter to higher ups by every owner and to ntsb as a group! what say ye?

Re: How to delete DEF injection with no software/hardware

I had a similar question about the reflash as Dsent. I had at least 4 or 5 'continue driving regen in process' messages in the first 6000 or so miles on my CG. And i could watch the DEF level go down fairly steadily as i racked up miles. But this summer i had the same reductant pressure code Dsent had. So i took it to the dealership and had the tsb reflash done. In the 1500 or so miles since the reflash i havent gotten a 'continue driving regen inprocess' message and the DEF level guage doesnt seem to have moved at all. Could the reflash have had a major effect on DEF usage?

Also i guess it would be worth asking if Raven and the other DEF delete jeep had the reflash done.

i was wondering if the drain and refill with the car off really does work, wouldnt that same effect hapoen anytime someone got an 'incorrect DEF' code and took it in for service and the dealer drainedand refilled the tank?

How to delete DEF injection with no software/hardware

I think my Jeep may have done the DEF delete on it's own...

Attachment 46616

My DEF level has not moved for a while now and appears to be stuck around 20% remaining and should be closer to 1.5% remaining based on mileage (9,850 miles). Still original DEF from when I took delivery in December 2013. No error codes as of yet.

(Edit: My picture didn't show up correctly but my gauge level is identical to Raven's pic in his post above)

Why do you think you're not going to have the jeep much longer?
