How to know the temperature of turbocharger

I was reading the user manual for the diesel GC 2015 model. There is a section that advises how long you should have the engine running idle before turning it off. In that table there is a reference to the turbo charger temperature and the load. Does anyone know how to interpret that?

Just use your best judgement - and when in doubt, wait it out. :-)

In all honesty, you would really have to abuse the turbo to damage it - like blasting on the highway full "throttle", pulling over, and then turning off the engine. Modern turbos are pretty strong and normal driving shouldn't require anything special.

I have an OBD dongle that transmits data to the Torque app on my old Android phone. The EGT parameter will show you exhaust temps pre-turbo. There's no real spec on how low it needs to be. I wait for it to drop below 450F if it is even that high.
