I now own a 2016 Overland HA

Thanks for a lot of people here who gave me enough confidence to jump into the GC bandwagon. Especially, thanks to Muhzik.

I drove it back from the dealer and felt what most meant by the QL ride quality. Sometimes, it feels a little to bouncy, but I am sure I will get used to it. I also noticed what people here meant by passager door speaker rattle in Harmon Kardon system. The system is good, but not as clear as Bose in my Audi A6. I will play with the settings.

I now need to look for what accessories I have to add. I usually keep my car as much as stock as possible but here is the very short list.

1. 50% Formula1 Ceramic Tint on front windows
2. Air Blue 80% tint on front windshield
3. Weathertech floor and cargo mat.

Congrats!

With regard to the mats, check out Husky X-Act Contour liners. I prefer them as I think the material on the Weathertechs is too stiff. The X-Acts are more rubbery and offer better foot grip, IMO. For the cargo mat, the OEM Jeep rubber mat is very good and reasonably priced. Similar rubbery material as the X-Act liners.

I agree. I went with Husky Liners 53561 X-act Contour Black Front Floor Liner in the front, Husky Liners 53661 X-act Contour Black 2nd Seat Floor Liner, and the Husky Liners Custom Fit Molded Rear Cargo Liner. They fit perfect and are a nice flexible rubbery mat with no smell.

I also purchased the Mopar 82213686 Black All-Weather Floor Mat set (front and rear seating area) and the Mopar 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cargo Area Liner because I liked the Jeep logo. I ended up staying with the Husky liners because they fit better and cover more of the carpet. At the moment I actually have both the Husky and the Mopar in the cargo area (Husky on the bottom and Mopar on the top).

By the way trance3, congratulations on your purchase. We've had our Overland Diesel for about a year and love it. No troubles at all.

I recommend the husky x-act floor mats over the weathertechs. The weathertechs are plastic, and wet shoes slip around on them. The husky x-act fit are made of rubber. Both are laser fitted, but I feel the husky mats are better quality.

You're the only person I've ever heard compliment the Audi's Bose system. It sounds like elevator speakers compared to the HK in the GC. Bose might have clarity going for it, if you only listen to AM talk radio lol

Not sure which Audi you experienced. The one I had was a 2004 A6 S-Line. It was very clear and never once experienced a rattle from any body part.

I have since discovered that in the settings, my HK audio system had surround turned off, once I turned it on, it sounded much better. Have driven about 100 miles so far but have started noticing terrible burning smell when I park in my garage and I can see the haze of smoke in front of my headlights. I guess it will go with few hundred miles on it.

Re: I now own a 2016 Overland HA

Nice looking Jeep! How is the turbo lag? Noticeable from starting out and pressing the pedal at cruising. I always have a little delay on my 15. I'm afraid to hit the gas to hard from a start as I think it will jerk quite a bit. So I usually ease it a bit and then I feel the turbo kick in and it is all good. They said they improved this for the 2016. What is your experience?
