Unfortunately I can't say I'm surprised. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Out of my own curiosity what def are you using? I've been running the Walmart stuff which is also sold at O'Riley auto parts locally. I don't remember when I started running that but it seems like that is when I started getting the cel with P20EE. Maybe I'm reaching here but I Weiner if it's the quality of the def causing the crystallization.

Possible, but hard to say. I poured in 2.5 gallons of BlueDef I bought at Walmart a few weeks ago and so far haven't had any problems. It was manufactured in early June, so it was pretty fresh. I think BlueDef is also what Pilot truck stops sell. Do you know how old your BlueDef was when your poured it in? I have seen boxes of the stuff at some Walmart stores that was over 18 months old, which is way too old to risk using. A few miles away, another store had DEF fresh out of the factory.

I did not check the dates on any of the bluedef I purchased. I will from now on. I just never thought it would be an issue so I didn't bother checking. I haven't added any since I had the oil changed at the dealer 5000 Mikes ago. One cel with P200EE since tab rev c was performed on July 28 with 1300 miles driven. Though nowhere beat what excursion diesel is experiencing any of these issue just should exist. I'm still leaning towards our quality def and it's degradation causing the problem.

Based on this read I probably will stick with using the mopar def. What does the mopar def costs per gallon?

Mopar cost = too much.

It's all the same. Just make sure it's fresh.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

My last DEF fill before my first P20EE came from a Pilot pump. I drove maybe 2500 miles on that fill before getting the P20EE. I reset and drove another 800 or so before it happened again. Reset and drove. Eventually I got a "Bad DEF" or some similar wording on the EVIC. I attempted to drain the tank with no success so I refreshed the tank with fresh verified dated DEF. Then I got the "Won't restart in xx miles. See dealer." message.

I'm going to request that they drain, rinse, clean out my tank and replace my DEF.

My dealer wants over $9 for a gallon of Mopar DEF. I use Peak BlueDEF bought on sale at O'Reilly, check the dates, keep it cold until I use it, and only add a gallon when the tank is below 1/4 full.

After seeing the issues of others I think i will avoid using DEF from a station pump. Just in case....

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Update: My Star case is elevated and there are factory techs involved. They ordered a new "SCR module". Does anyone know what that is? In the meantime, the dealer has been instructed to pull the DEF tank, clean everything, and refill.

Chrysler is now paying for my rental....

That sounds like part of the computer that controls the DEF system. By now they're probably running out of components to check.
