Maybe I'll mention the this SCR module

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

So just an update... My catalyst was supposed to arrive on Tuesday of this week per the service department (they called the day before to say it was coming in) but no word since. With the way things have been going at this dealership I bet they installed it and it didn't fix the problem. Chrysler has been paying for my rental for over two weeks now and I imagine I'll be in this thing a while longer.

Unfortunately Chrysler does NOT seem to have a handle on this issue as of yet which I find very disappointing. I fear if things go on more than a few weeks longer without resolution I may start contacting Chrysler about getting put into a 2015 diesel via lemon law. I will only pay 44k for a vehicle I can actually drive.

I wish I had your patience Excursion Diesel... really I don't think any of us should have to deal with an issue like this for as long as we have. I am losing faith

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

JustinB60,

I'm feeling the same way...but as long as Chysler is paying my rental (well equipped Nissan Rogue) I'm going to make them fix this. If it occurs again...they WILL take it back. Its my business vehicle and this has cost me time away from work. I haven't had normal use of the vehicle since July 1st. I'm going to press them for a free 120k extended warranty for the trouble. We'll see.

I'm going on two weeks waiting for a catalytic converter for mine as well. Really tired of driving the loaner. I want my Jeep back. No ETA on delivery of the converter. I guess this is what can happen when you are an early adopter, but you hope it won't. You put some faith in the manufacturer thinking that they don't want to put out a poor product.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Reading all this makes me hate the EPA more and more.

Imagine having a good running Diesel that gets 5-10 MPG more because you don't have this BS emissions system to deal with.

I have a 2003 Excursion with the 7.3L diesel. It has no cat, no dpf, and the EGR is deleted, It has nodded injectors and turbo. With my +80hp ECO tune I get 21mpg at 65. This is with a 6" lifted 9200 lb 4x4 with 385/65/18's. I'll never sell it.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Well I got my diesel JGC back two days ago and this is the process they went through to fix it:

So far so good…... although they didn't do the TSB for updated shifting so I will have to have them do that when they fix the two recall's currently out for it.

Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Got mine back Tuesday after a two week wait for a new catalytic converter. So far so good. They also filled the DEF tank, no charge.

If that fixed yout issue, consider it a bargain...although they could have warrantied it with a different diagnosis. Bad DEF is YOUR problem...but DEF system malfunction is THEIR problem. You have to be careful how you word your problem or you'll end up with non-warranty repairs.

FYI....instructions on how to drain the DEF tank are on this forum. The real queation is did it fix your issue?
