I've got over 25k on my in 12 months. I've owned it for 13, but the month of September it was at the dealers for the DEF/ P20EE issue

Ha, ha, well I guess I'm one of those who don't put on a lot of miles per year on any one of my vehicles! 7487 miles on the WK2 at 11 months old and 108,000 on my 18 year old ZJ purchased new (avg = 6000/yr). I also have 2 other vehicles I use more as daily drivers, and one more (now in storage) that needs a resto.

As for the WK2, since I'm only 7 miles from my office, I try to take it out on the freeway once every couple of weeks if I haven't been out of town for awhile. Only had the regen warning once this past summer. DEF level is about 35%, and I think it will last until the next oil change at 10k.

I agree that these need to be run on the highway rather than putting around town, which is why I don't drive it to work that much and instead use my other vehicles for daily driving. That was one thing I considered before purchasing a diesel, though.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

My sister has a 14 Eco, March 2014 build date which she bought July 2014, and her check engine light just came on. Code P20EE. "Nitrogen in catalyst in bank 1 is below threshold." She drove to her local dealer and they said since the check engine light is not flashing she's good to drive her jeep until her appointment next week.

I will actually be spending Christmas with her and will be there for her Jeep appointment. I plan to take the TSBs and discuss them starting off replacing the CAT so she does not have to take multiple trips to the dealer.

I am noticed today, that water is dropping from the holes of both exhausts. The water drains, when I am parking the car after a moderate trip. It seems water somehow gets trapped in exhaust system and drains when engine stops. I have seen this in gas engines but not sure tbat this normal for diesel engines. The tempratur in my area is 25.

That happens with mine as well. However, I don't believe this particular discussion belongs in this thread.

So has the catalytic replacement solved all of your P20EE problems?

Yes, all exhaust systems accumulate water from the air as they cool down. Short trips make it worse since the moisture never dries out completely.

I don't believe driving pattern has any affect on the P20EE issue. The Cat is a bad design and will fail. Period.

Short trip driving affects DPF health...a different, unrelated subject.

Subscribed. This thread started about 6 months ago, almost to the day in fact, and this situation still hasn't been resolved? Or have the 2015's been fixed? Thanks.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

This forum is great. I had a question about using Peak Blue DEF and I got all of the info that I needed and more. I was at Wal-Mart in northern Illinois and found Peak Blue DEF with a code of 15075 13:51 CP6 3418.

This code seems to be from a newer batch than what is being discussed but the code does not appear to have a beginning two digit Plant Code. This DEF appears to be manufactured on the 17th of October, 2014. Am I reading the code correctly? thanks

Chrysler seems to be dancing around the actual fix which is replacing the Catalyst. I am sure they want a software fix to alleviate the cost of replacing the Catalyst even though there is a TSB for that however I have yet to get my local dealership to consider that option. This is a major headache due to the amount of Jeep Diesels on the road.
